Re: Splash mountain \'s lennngthy rehab I believe Splash is closed at Disneyland right now and I read somewhere that Disney just significantly extended the anticipated downtime. I'm pretty sure they're adding passenger restraints to the logs. There are faint rumors that WDW Spalsh could go down for simillar work but it's been said that the logs used in Orlando are somewhat different and thus might not require the same solution as in CA. Anyone been on both that can describe any differences? Anyhow, I don't think anything official about WDW has been announced by Disney yet and I haven't seen any firm mention of it yet at the big rumor sites. So keep your fingers crossed. We all may luck out after all [ 04-01-2002, 08:40 PM: Message edited by: mattjs ]

Re: Splash mountain \'s lennngthy rehab Oh man, sorry I spoiled the joke. The scarry thing is there's a little unintended truth to it. Somehow I managed to lose a couple lines when I edited that message so here's the link to an Sentinel article with almost no detail but an open ended indication that WDW Splash might be next. No dates a Don't believe everything you read in the papers though.

Re: Splash mountain \'s lennngthy rehab The new restraints on the logs at Disneyland probably have something to do with stricter laws being passed in CA for safety on theme park and amusement rides. Because FL has not passed the same laws it is hard to say whether SM at WDW will follow suit. The ride vehicles are different too.

Re: Splash mountain \'s lennngthy rehab All fooling aside , mattjs asked about the differences. The biggest difference is that at DL people sit one behind the other, 4 (or maybe 6?) to a log. At MK, people sit 2 to a row, 4 rows, so 8 to a log.
