| E-Book Idea I know that over the last several years there have been inquiries about a Kid's Passporter. Dave gave the reasonings behind not doing a book HERE. My suggestion is an E-book developed for kids. The e-book would be a compilation of information in current passporters that would be of interests to kids, with additional fun facts, activities, games, and journals for kids. I am sure that the kid's would enjoy Allie's Fun Facts, but I don't allow them to touch my Passporter! The reason I thought that an e-book might be more feasible is that it wouldn't require printing and binding by the Passporter Team, just those who choose to download it. I apologize if this is an idea that has already been proposed and I somehow missed the post. Mardesia Last edited by desiab; 05-17-2007 at 01:31 PM.. |

| Thank you, Mardesia -- the good news is that we've revised our opinion about doing a Kid's PassPorter and we've already begun doing research on it. I can't say for sure when it will be out, but we are working on one.

| I'm glad to hear that Jennifer because I think that a child needs to have something tangible... I don't think an ebook would work as well as it does for an adult. Also... I would want to have journal pages and passpockets in it too!

| Awesome! I bought my 6-year-old a child version of Birnbaum, since he loves to read and plan, but I'd love to have a "Passporter Jr" for him instead!

| I would love to have either an ebook or regular kids passporter. My boys would love to have a planner of their own.

| Although I have no little ones of my own anymore who could make use of this book, I hope to have grandchildren in the future to take to WDW with me and a book like this would be awesome. Joy

| A Passporter Jr (e-book) would be great! Both my DS (12) and DD (5) have been actively involved in planning, mapping, discussing and prioritizing for our June trip. (As a matter of fact my DS really 'bought in to the Disney portion of our trip once he entered into the planning of it.) DS picks up Passporter and leaves me sticky notes to express what he's interested in, but DD (who frequently picks up the Passporter and leafs through it -- landing especially on the maps, photos, and the places that she knows we have marked) has to have someone sit with her and read to her. That's not a problem for us and we enjoy doing that together, but... I know that she would also enjoy having a tool which she could look at by herself and then bring to the family conversations so that she can give her own thoughtful input. My point is this: a Passporter Jr focused toward younger children (early and midlevel readers) would be great as they would have a tool that allows them some independent 'workspace' that they can then bring to an adult to show and describe their own interests. There's a great sense of ownership in that kind of planning which contributes to an even better family experience. Brief ideas: It would be terrific to have something where she could (in her own book or her own pages) -- circle or check pictures (or abbreviated descriptions) of what she wants to make certain we see/do -- highlight (trace) the routes of the parade -- write down the times of parades and fireworks (she's just learned to tell time and write it out) -- look over a larger (less detailed?) map -- this would be similar to ordering a set of personalized maps for her from the Disney website -- learn the symbols used at WDW for the bus, the FastPass, the boat, ride height restrictions -- read trivia or stats for each park -- Answer journal questions: 'What was the best thing that you did today?' 'What characters did you see today?' 'What was the most unexpected thing that happened to you today?' The only other suggestion that I would have would be to make it in a larger fomat -- standard paper/double Passporter page? -- so that there would be more room for little fingers with bigger crayons. Thanks for being open to this kind of suggestion. |

| I know the Kids Passporter is in the idea stage.....have you thought about maybe doing age range passporters for the kids. One for little ones with lots of photos and one for older kids a little less detailed but same styled as the regular?

| Excellent. I would like to have it in the ring binder design if that would be possible - and the age range idea is great too. Right now we are getting ready for the coming of age trip with the "women" of the family and DGD who is turning 12. She has looked through our passporter and I am going to order deluxe version so she can take out her pages after the trip. But we are getting a small three ring binder and putting topic pages and blocks on pages so that she can get autographs, favorite meal of day, favorite ride, character, etc. per park. It would be great to have a kid's version for the younger ones who will be going in Sept. Looking forward to hearing when Jr. version is available

| How is the Jr version coming along? I know DD would love to contribute something to it if at all possible. She has been asking me about a kids Passporter lately. Another suggestions is to have a few pages in the Epcot section where the kids can have someplace to get sayings or stamps from the different countries.
