| \"Dream Meals\" (or similar place where you go and prepare meals...) Has anyone ever gone to one of those places where you can prepare up to 12 meals in a visit? I was just looking into Dream Meals and while the price seems a bit high (you can make 12 meals that would feed 4 to 6), it does sound like a good deal because I would probably never make all those kinds of food at my house nor would I have all the spices, etc. If you've tried something like this, did you enjoy it? Would you do it again? Thanks.

This caught my attention because I was going to sign-up for one of these, but then decided to try "freezer cooking" at home myself and have been very happy with the results -- both in terms of making food for later and in saving money. I've been doing it since early this year with much success. Just thought I'd throw that in. |

| Re: \"Dream Meals\" (or similar place where you go and prepare meals...) Kathy, some friends and I attempted to schedule a session at the Dream Dinners in Berlin. It was a disaster and one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had! We never did make it into the place. There is one in Cheshire so if you go, you may want to try that one. |

| Re: \"Dream Meals\" (or similar place where you go and prepare meals...) I Dream Dinners. I would go every month if they would have meals that my family would always eat. You go in, you make up your meals and then freeze them. I pull them out the night before I want it and I cook it when I get home from work the next day. It's so nice to know that I do not have to stop at the nearest fast food place on my way home as much as I used to. My grocery bills are slashed in half. If any of you are interested, ask your local "Dream Dinner" type place if you can make a free meal. There are people who host " sneak peeks" and you go and make a meal for free to try them out. I know that ours lets you make a very yummy chicken picatta that serves 6 people. I hope this helps you make up your mind. Trust me, you won't be sorry! |

| Re: \"Dream Meals\" (or similar place where you go and prepare meals...) Since I have a fully stocked kitchen and Allrecipes.com, I just can't justify the extra expense of it. We have a similar place near us and I've looked into it, but it's so much more expensive than DIY at home. I can buy spices in small quantities for about .89 each, so I don't mind if I never use it again, but chances are, the family will like it and want it again. Also, my DH eats like 3 people (super-high metabolism) and I have to make at least one serving for leftover lunch the next day, so I'm cooking 7-8 servings for 4 people...gotta keep at as cheap as possible! |

Jennifer
Is there a website for the "freezer cooking". I would love to do that with my hectic schedule and the added fact that I'm saving for a trip to the Beach Club and would like to reduce my home food budget. |

| Re: \"Dream Meals\" (or similar place where you go and prepare meals...) My cousin's daughter-in-law owns that Quick Dish kitchen. My sisters and I all did it last year and my DH and the kids loved the food. During spring break they had a Parent/Child day and DH and DD made dinners. My DH is usually very critical, but he loved the food and thought it was a great value. He wanted to sign up again for Mother's Day but he was too late. Let me just say that I was EXHAUSTED after making so many meals! |

| Re: \"Dream Meals\" (or similar place where you go and prepare meals...) We just got a similar place here in jacksonville - but since I am a singleton, and travel as much as I do - there is no way I could do that as a dining option unless I wanted to eat the same thing over, and over and over again. |

| Re: \"Dream Meals\" (or similar place where you go and prepare meals...) I did the Dream Dinners here in Framingham, MA. We had a great time and did 12 meals. Since they feed 6 and we are only a family of 3, we broke most of them down into two meals each. We came home with so much food! I left a couple as large meals and had family over for dinner, it was so nice not to have to really "cook" dinner. We have very hectic schedules, so taking something out of the freezer each morning and just popping it into the over when we got home was perfect. I would alternate the meals and fill in on odd days with the usual staples so that we could make the meals stretch. Because of breaking the meals into two servings and filling in with other home cooked meals, one trip (12 dinners) lasted us about a month.
I think one of the best parts is that I'm not really an adventurous (sp?) eater and you can control what you put in the food, and I ate things I NEVER would have cooked at home, lots of variety. |
