Velveeeeeetah! Do you use Velveeta? What for? The butter sandwich post reminded me that our "luxury" in grilled cheese was Velveeta instead of *AN* American slice (as in, singular). I also use it to make cheese fondue. Anyone else enjoy this pre-easy cheese culinary delight???

Re: Velveeeeeetah! We use Velveeta in a lot of recipes. I just used the big block on Sat for my chicken spaghetti recipe. We use the singles for sandwiches and grilled cheese. we luv it! Darcie

Re: Velveeeeeetah! [ QUOTE ] *AN* American slice (as in, singular). [/ QUOTE ] You were only allowed one slice of meat. Only one slice of cheese too? I get the light velveeta. Tastes the same and every little bit helps. Like to make shells and cheese with it. Also cook broccoli and/or cauliflower then put chunks of velveeta in and let it melt. Yummy.

Re: Velveeeeeetah! I love cheese, one of my friends calls me the Cheese Queen...Velveeta is not one of my faves though, but I'll eat it. Is it, in fact, cheese?

Re: Velveeeeeetah! Melted with salsa mixed in for chips is one of my favorites. I also melt it over broccoli sometimes. It is good in grilled cheese (Dawn I would have died growing up in your house - one slice of cheese, I use 4 slices of cheese on a grilled cheese).

Re: Velveeeeeetah! You people make grilled cheese sandwiches with more than one slice of cheese? It never occurred to me. I don't like Velveeta.

Re: Velveeeeeetah! There's a restaurnat in Siler City, NC, all they sell are hanburgers, cheeseburgers, and lettuce & tomato sandwiches. I think the name is Johnson's (I've only been once). The buegers are hand pattied out, and for the cheese, they get big a big slab o' Velveeta. Man, are they good!!!! The people that own it, they make up X amt of patties, and once they've sold them, they close for the day!

Re: Velveeeeeetah! Velveeta is too expensive here. We use CheezWhiz because it goes on sale more often. We use CheezWhiz for mac & cheese when we don't buy that box stuff. And we use it to melt over veggies like cauliflower or broccoli to make them palatable.
