Pressure Cooker......... When we were at QVC Sunday, one of the items on the show was a Digital Pressure Cooker. It looked so cool but of course it would - they're trying to sell it. Does anyone have one of these types of pressure cookers? What do you think of it?

Re: Pressure Cooker......... OMG, I absolutely love mine!! I was just telling a friend about it. I can actually make a small roast after work. Ribs.......they fall off the bone. My husband even admits it was worth every penny! He actually said "it paid for itself with tonight's dinner" on the first night I used it. Go for it, you won't be disappointed. Karen

Re: Pressure Cooker......... I thought about registering for one of those when I got married, but I always think back to the episode of Mad About You when it exploded-- that mess was scary.

Re: Pressure Cooker......... Was that the one that was the TSV? My mom has that one and loves it. Nice thing about that one is you can take the inner liner out and use it as a pot on the stove. She just wishes it was a little bigger. If you ahve a big roast or chicken, you might have to cut it up to get it to fit in it since the pot's tall and thin rather than wide. She bought me a different one from QVC for Christmas last year. If you go on their website to see, it's either the 6 qt or 8 qt oval Cook's Essentials digital pressure cooker (I can't remember offhand which size, but I think it's the 6 qt). I love it!!! Gret thing about the electric ones is you don't have to worry about them exploding or having to keep adjusting the heat to keep the petcock jiggling. It's got a delay timer on it, so you can set the thing and leave the house if you want. It also has the quick release steam valve so for most things you don't have to wait for the pressure to go down manually, which can make for soem fast yummy meals!

Re: Pressure Cooker......... My mother swears by them and has 2 different sizes. I've always been nervous about them, but they do cut down the cooking time. I'd have to call Mom if I ever got one and get instructions.

Re: Pressure Cooker......... I have two. One for canning and one that I use for cooking meats. The smaller one is perfect for putting a roast in especially for home made vegetable beef soup. As with anything you just have to watch what you are doing. I was terrified the first time I used my one for canning. I had my step mother teach me. I consider it one gift she gave me before she passed away and every time I use it I feel her guiding me. Also don't worry if you have a glass top stove as I have one and it doesn't damage it.

Re: Pressure Cooker......... [ QUOTE ] I'd need a lesson. Crystal, you buy it, and learn, and then I'll come up and you can show me how. [/ QUOTE ] Then we can go out to eat and have some drinks It looked pretty easy to use. Its not the kind that can explode - its a digital one that is electric. You plug it in and go. It has some technology in the lid that keeps it from ever being able to explode.
