| Christmas Eve/Christmas Day Dinner? Whatcha having/making for the big meal on either of these days?
We're doing a small family dinner tonight for the three of us. I'm making a roast chicken with roasted autumn veggies (delicata squash, petite brussel sprouts, and baby carrots with olive oil and herbs) and smoked bacon and mushroom hashbrown casserole.
Tomorrow, it's Christmas Tea at our house. We paired down the menu as so many of our guests wanted to bring a little something, too. So, we're supplying the french toast sticks, quiche florentine puffs, mini bagels, fruit and veggie trays and dips, desserts (tuxedo cheesecake, fruit tart, and chocolate mousse cake), Frunch, coffee, and tea.
DMIL is bringing a shrimp tray. My mom is bringing a deli tray. I have no idea what my aunt, brother, or DBIL are bringing. |

| Re: Christmas Eve/Christmas Day Dinner? Sounds yummy Chrissi!
We're breaking tradition this year. We always have lasagna, garlic bread and salad on Christmas Eve before we go to church, but this year, we're going to do our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve.
The menu will be rib roast, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, baby carrots and homemade rolls followed with chocolate cream pie. It will be the five of us, and possibly Amanda's boyfriend Tim. Then after church, we'll have our traditional opening of the Christmas Eve present (always jammies!) with eggnog or mulled cider and Christmas cookies!
Tomorrow, we'll have the Santa fiesta here in the morning, then we'll be traveling down to Rye Beach to visit with John's family. I'm bringing desserts and fruit, but the menu there is an appetizer/grazing afternoon. |

| Re: Christmas Eve/Christmas Day Dinner? Today is DH's birthday, so it's his fave, steak and shrimp for dinner. I do not cook on Christmas with the exception of sauerkraut balls (he helps with those), so we have ham, meat and cheese tray, veggie tray, sauerkraut balls, and various goodies. We just graze all day and in-laws usually come over in the afternoon and graze with us. |

| Re: Christmas Eve/Christmas Day Dinner? Tonight we'll go to my aunts for prime rib, yummy potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, and a bunch of other yummy stuff. She always prepares one heck of a dessert, too.
Tomorrow we go to my grandmas for the traditional Thanksgiving dinner (turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, carrots, etc.) Then we always have mint, pecan and coconut cream pie. I think I gained 10 lbs just thinking about it all. |

| Re: Christmas Eve/Christmas Day Dinner? We're having ham, scalloped potatoes, corn casserole, green bean bundles, brie en croute and rosemary bread today. The ham is in the oven as we speak. Later, we'll go to my Sister's SIL house for appetizer type stuff. I'm bringing a bologna and cheese platter to that. Guess I should cut that stuff up soon.
Tommorrow, its just us and my mom and dad. We'll probably have leftover ham with eggs and waffles. |

| Re: Christmas Eve/Christmas Day Dinner? Our family's Christmas Eve menu has been the same for generations:smoked whiting, homemade mushroom soup, pierogis, pierogis and more pierogis, LOL.
For the first time in 16 years, I won't be having Christmas dinner at my brother's house. DH and I will be heading to Atlantic City tomorrow afternoon and will spend the night there. I'm not sure where we'll end up having dinner |

Then that same night I had my family over and we had snack foods and LOTS of desserts.
Christmas morning I made breakfast! We had egg/sausage taquitos and egg/turkey bacon taquitos with hash browns. |
