Can you rename a cake Titanic?
OMG! I have been baking for 32 years. I mean I have been able to whip up any cake since age 9. Tomorrow is a co workers birthday. It's my turn for the cake. I make fabulous cakes. In fact I have never had a bad one. What happens to me tonight?
I am making a pineapple upside down cake. I have made so many of those I lost count. I mis it I put it in the oven. I bake appropriately at the correct temperature. It's golden brown on bottom as it should be. I stuck a cake tester in it. No raw batter (or so it showed). I carefully take it out of the oven as to not jar it so it won't fall. I run a knife around they edges to keep from sticking. I place the cake container on top so I can flip it. What happens? I pull off the pan and it ran EVERYWHERE!
It's 7:00pm. No grocery stores for 17 miles. They close at 7:30. OMG what am I going to do?????????????????????????
Can you just whip up some simple cookies or something instead? It seems like it is Murphy's Law that something like that happens when you want to bring it to work. When I used to work at the hospital, my boss brought in some bars one night with the last row missing. Apparently her kids really liked that particular bar recipe, so helped themselves to it before she could tell them she was bringing it to work. If anything, you will have a great story to tell tomorrow! coming your way.
Something similar to this happened to me once. I got all the "good" pieces I could salvage out of it and put them in a glass casserole. The next day when I was ready to use it, I made a box of instant vanilla pudding and got some cool whip out of the freezer. I put it together like a triffle - alternating layers of the pudding, cake and cool whip. I got so many compliments on it that I couldn't beleive it was a mistake. They even asked me to make it again! Hope you figure something out.

Well I poured it all back in the pan. Gooey butter brown sugar mixture pineapple and all. Baked 15 more minutes. It's in one piece but kind of a inside out pineapple wreck. But it smells really good and doesn't look TOO bad. I figure we are also serving ice cream. Lets just hope it tastes good.
