| Mom's Stained Glass (Cathedral) Window Cookies My mom has made these every year since I was about 4. She got the recipe from a friend that lived by us in Roslyn, WA. Mom cherishes this hand written recipe because her friend perished in a small plane crash several years ago. ![]() INGREDIENTS 1/4 cup butter 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips 2 eggs, beaten 1 (10.5 ounce) package rainbow colored miniature marshmallows 1 cup chopped pecans ( MOM substitutes walnuts) 1 small bag of shredded coconut DIRECTIONS Melt together the butter and chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler or in the microwave. Stir to blend, then stir in the eggs, colored marshmallows and pecans (or walnuts). Form mixture into a loaf (log shape), and coat outside of loaf with shredded coconut. Surround loaf with foil and put in refrigerator to chill Remove chilled dough from fridge, remove the foil, and slice into 1/4 inch slices.

| My grandma made this cheese ball for Christmas Eve every year. It sounds like an odd combination of ingredients but it is delicious! It's not the holidays without it for me... Red Cheese Ball 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 Tbsp Sherry 1/2 tsp dried chopped onion (you can use fresh, but diced finely) 8 - 10 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 can small black olives - chopped 1 package dried beef - diced finely Mix the first four ingredients together, then mix in cheddar cheese and olives. Form mixture into a ball and roll in chipped beef. Best if made one day in advance. |
