Cream of Bread Soup

Let me start this by giving a little background...

I went to Europe *gulp* 7 years ago when i graduated High School and if you didn't know I am an Extremely Picky Eater. I have issues. So while over in Europe it was very scary for me. Well one night they brought out our soup course. I had so far been brave and tried : Cream of Leek soup, and a vegetable soup. Well they brought out the night's soup and well even those who were adventurous made comments!

It was Cream of Bread Soup! Well I tried it *gulp* and liked it!! It was good and every once in a while at home I would remember it and mention how I was shocked that 1. they made such a thing 2. that I ate it 3. that i liked it

Well Mom made it Today it takes like 5 hours to make and well I can honestly say after all her hard work..... I owe her a spa day or something for spending all that time making it and well....

It must have been the excitement of being in Switzerland and with friends because it was not what I remembered and well I can say I am over the Bread Soup!

Well... even though its not my favorite I am so appreciative of my mom taking the time to find the reservation, making it and not slaping me when I hated it!

What was something you have had somewhere else and loved but when you made it you disliked it?

Sorry you didn't like the soup Amy I've made some things from Disney (I think the bread pudding from 1900 Park Fair) and that didn't end up tasting like the one I had at Disney

Not quite the same, but I have one food that I only like in one particular situation: sardines. My grandparents lived in Mississippi until they passed away last year; they owned several acres of woodland in the Meridian area. Every winter until this year, we would spend at least one day in the woods, hiking over the various trails and having a picnic lunch in an old homestead on the land. For years, it has been my tradition to have sardines and crackers for my picnic lunch. Mom would always pack a can of sardines just for me, then when I got older I took my own. I don't know how I got started on that as a kid, but it was just assumed that I would have sardines for that meal. However, I don't like sardines at any other place!

Amy - I would chalk it up to ambience! Also this...salad is SOOOOO delicious when I'm out and someone else made it. When I make it at home, no matter how good my ranch dressing is, it's just NOT THE SAME! LOL

For me, it's any green salad. I love love love ordering salad in a restaurant. It always tastes SO good (even if it's just salad, tomatoes and dressing). No salad I make at home compares
