| Strawberry Soup I want to make the strawberry soup from 1900 Park Faire, but it's pretty high in fat. I need some recommendations on how to lower it when it comes to the heavy cream. Here's the recipe: 2 lb., 8 oz. strawberries (frozen variety, thawed with juice) 16 oz. heavy cream 2 oz. sour cream 3 oz. plain yogurt 8 oz. fresh strawberries 1. Mix first four ingredients. 2. Beat slowly until well mixed and a smooth consistency. 3. Chill; shake well before serving. 4. Add fresh strawberries as garnish. |

| what about a reduced fat half-n-half? or using more low fat yogurt and just a touch of the cream?

| I got the low fat sour cream, fat free yogurt and I found frozen strawberries in a Splenda syrup, so I've cut down on a good amount of fat and calories. Is there a low fat half and half? |

| There's a fat free half and half you could use in addition to the rf kind.

| Kemps and Land o Lakes both make Fat Free half and half - there may be other brands in your area. I use it in my coffee, but to be honest I'm not sure what it really "is" You might want to substitute a combo of cream and lowfat or fatfree milk --- essentially making your own reduced fat half & half.

| I found Lucerne brand of fat free half and half, so I've used that. I made it this morning to keep chilled for Sunday. We were dying to try it, but it's not on the Jenny Craig Plan, but we are planning on eating it on Sunday! |

| Strawberry soup is my favorite thing at the GF -- but since I'm the only one in this house that'll eat strawberries, making it doesn't make much sense. So I'll be thinking of you -- and quite jealous -- Sunday

| Let us know how the strawberry soup was - I'd like to try to make it the low fat version if you liked it!

| It was delicious. My 6 year old niece didn't wait for everyone to sit down and say grace, she just dove right in and finished off hers. It was just as good as the 1900 Park Faire version. I made it two days before, gave it a whirl and served it with little strawberry fans attached to the sides of each soup bowl. My son in law who had it with us at 1900 thought he had died and gone to heaven, and took the leftovers home. There was not much left over, but we are back to Jenny Craig today, so I sent all the leftovers home with everyone. |
