Ice cream / frozen yogurt maker

I just replaced my ice cream maker that died on me a few months ago and boy did I get a deal. My old one was made by Rival and I got it for $15 on clearance at Kmart. I just got one made by Cuisinart (model ice-20) for $2.50 + tax at the Value Village near me. It was marked $4.99 but everything in the store was 50% off today since today is Memorial Day. The only thing missing is the owners manual which I was able to find on Cuisinart's website and when I put it all together, plugged it in and turned it on it worked. So does anyone want to share their favorite ice cream recipe?

I'm making homemade ice cream right now, and of course, brownies to go with. I have a plastic Rival 4 quart ice cream maker and here is the recipe I use (it's from the book- not original.)

4 cups whipping cream
2 cups half n half
2 cups milk (I use skim since it's all I buy)
1 tbsp vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups sugar

You're supposed to scald the milk, then mix in the sugar and salt. Add the rest, then refrigerate for half an hour before starting the ice cream maker. There are other good recipes in the booklet too- this is just the one my family likes.

DD and I are huge cake batter ice cream fans. Love Love Love Maggie Moo's version. Here is a recipe that I use in my Cusinart.

1 c. whole milk
3/4 c. sugar
2 c. heavy cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. cake mix

Make sure freezer bowl has been in freezer long enough. I keep mine in there 24/7. Dissolve sugar in Milk. Sir in heavy cream and vanilla. Stir in cake mix, making sure you leave no lumps. Pour into freezer bowl and mix until thickened (about 25-30 minutes) Transfer to another container.

I cut down the sugar a little and increase the cake mix a little. We have used french vanilla cake mix and it is yummy. This summer DD is planning to do some experiements with other cake mixes.
