| Since I am sitting at my desk at work thinking about food, I thought I would check in with all of you. Are you the type to try new recipes all the time or do you have your menu favorites that you consistently make? We seem to have hit a point lately where we are tired of the same things all the time. So I'm thinking that I need to shake up the menu roster a bit. ![]() So what are your family favorites?

| DH & DS are extremely picky, so I usually make the same things all of the time. This time of year, I to cut up grilled chicken and throw it on a salad! Of course, I have to make something other than salad for them....once corn on the cob is at its peak they will be in heaven!

| I used to try out new things, but these days I've settled with my favourites, which include aubergine curry, courgette soup, mushroom risotto and prawn and asparagus risotto.

| I've been trying to do a new meal each week. I just made a yummy shrimp/orzo salad (mediterranean style) that was delish!! Other than that, it's the usual chicken, pork chops, steak around here

| Trying new recipes would constitute cooking on a regular basis, and I don't do that

| We have our regulars such as lasagna, shepards pie, meat pie and such and then ever once in a while I'll try something new like terriaki chicken or beef or a new way to cook rice....some little changes at a time not all at once. |

| We have a list of 20 or so things we rotate through. Once I cook something so many times it goes off the list and the cookbooks come out to find replacement recipes. Some things like tacos, salmon patties, hot dogs are on there permanently. I've started getting rid of things that are too time consuming. It will probably be that way for a while until I finish school. The quicker the better.

| I try to do something new every now and again. But - we frequently end up eating the same things over and over. Or, going out to eat, where we eat the same things over and over.

| I try to mix it up some, but I do have favorites that I never get tired of as well - grilled chicken, spaghetti, meatloaf, poppyseed chicken casserole, etc.

| I'm always trying something new, but I tend to stick to simple, quick and yet still healthy recipes during the weekdays (sometimes it's just a matter of changing a side dish). We're trying not to eat out anymore, so to solve our fast food cravings, every Friday night we'll have home-made pizza night, or home-made burgers etc. Every weekend I tend to do more roasts or dishes that take longer to prepare/cook, since I have more time. |

| I am constantly printing recipes off the web and I have a few favorite web sites that I look at for recipes. We try 2-3 new things each week. My mother did this growing up and I LOVED it. We would rate the recipes on the "UGG meter" LOL. We got some family favorites this way. But normal stuff for us is "Thursday Steak Night", I make Hamburger Helper for Sam once a week (BLECH ), I almost always make Salisbury Steak once per week and I make BLTs for a quick dinner and always at least one crockpot meal.

| I like to try new things every now and then. About once a month, I'll give something new a try. I missed cooking in my kitchen when I was away, so I made two new recipes yesterday. They both came out great! ![]() I have several good ole standbys that we have fairly frequently. We have Beef and Beans in the crockpot (kind of mild chili), Tater Tot hot dish, enchiladas, tacos, and homemade spaghetti sauce. ![]()
