for the link! They are opening 2 within a mile of my house soon (They probably less than 1/2 a mile from each other) One is right next to a Honey Dew Donuts and directly across from a Dunkin Donuts. The other one is on the same intersection - different corners - as a Dunkin Donuts and is about a 1/4 mile down the road from another Honey Dew. Rhode Island is the land of the donuts and coffee, I guess!

I know people that work at both stores in San Francisco. But the Starbucks where I hang out is ok. Good.

None of the ones in my town are closing but one right down the raod that they just built is! I feel badly for those people who will be losing their jobs.

Yeah, the area you're talking about is a bizarre case. The one at Evergreen Walk is closing which is really new and they just built one at the corner by Uno's/Applebee's that opened about 4 months ago and only 3 minutes away. Sounds like a lot of bad management somewhere

HA.
One of the 3 at cityplace (there's one by the fountains, one near the movie theater and one in the barnes & noble) is closing.
It was ridiculous because they had 3 stores all within 1000 feet of each other.
Maybe Starbucks won't take over the world after all.

4 FOUR, of the ones I visit are set to close. but - that's fairly okay. 3 of them are in areas where there are other ones within a mile or so. 2 are within walkin' distance of another one.
I concur - there are way too many of them. But - they're closin' the one I stop at most, and there are NO others anywhere near by.

I am wondering if Starbucks made its money the same way McDonalds did! I have the feeling McDonalds did not get rich on hamburgers, but on the land that all the mcDonalds were built on!!!

Ack! They are closing 4 in my city, but luckily none of the ones we go to are closing. One of the ones set to close is in the mall and I know that they just remodeled it. I think Scott may be onto something regarding the real estate.

I think we can all agree, that whether we like Starbucks or not, whether we think they are taking over the world or not... That it's not only really really sad that people are losing their jobs, but that it hurts a lot of people. It's not just the people working there, but it's definitely hurting our community and it hurts our economy. We don't want ANY companies shutting down like this as it hurts us all, in the long run.

Guess I better use up the rest of my gift card. The one by my house and office are both still open.
