| Magic Brownies (Healthy) This recipe was in the food section of the Baltimore Sun this past week. I was strangely intrigued when a friend of mine made them and reported they were pretty decent. I made them, without telling DH or the kids the 'secret ingredient' and they all gobbled them up. Me, I tasted a slight, starchy aftertaste but I think I could tweak the recipe a bit. One Box Brownie Mix (You could also make your dry ingredients from scratch) One Can Black Beans One Tablespoon Cinammon Puree the beans, undrained and mix with brownie, cinammon. Bake as directed. I actually cut the cinammon to 1tsp and added 1tsp vanilla. The mix seemed a bit dry so I added about 1/4 cup water. I baked in a 8x8 for 30 minutes. danielle

| My DMIL has done something similar and they were good. She even makes a pecan pie that uses beans instead of pecans, but you'd never know.

| Hmmm, now I hate beans, but I wonder if I could eat these. Maybe I'll make some on Saturday while hubby is off working and see what he thinks. Good way to get that protein. And I bet my Vegan friend would like them.

| I made them last night and they are very dense and sticky. Maybe I should have baked them longer than I did. I too put them in an 8 x 8 pan and put them in for 30 minutes but the middle wasn't done so I baked them another 10 minutes. DD wasn't home when I made them and she tasted them when she got home and said she didn't like them because they tasted like cinammon. Oh well, I'll eat them since I know I'm helping myself out a little and chocolate is chocolate IMO. |

| Hmmm... I"ll have to try this ... when no one is home. I used to make chocolate pudding with tofu (until the kids caught me!)

| If there was only a way I could make them without letting myself know what is in them. I love chocolate pumpkin muffins, but don't know if I can make the leap to black beans in my sacred brownies!
