| I have one, too, don't remember the brand, but it's red and I got it at K-Mart...LOVE it! I grew up with one that a Japanese friend gave my mom, but the new ones are much easier (no more measuring water into the base under the pan...)

| I've had a rice cooker for ages! We use it multiple times a week, for cooking rice and also other grains. Ours is getting really old, and I need to replace it someday, but I'm so used to how it works I don't want to have to learn another one! Ours is just pour in the liquid and the rice cover it, push a button... 20mins later--- RICE!! |

| As MontiMouse surely knows, if you live in south LA, you cannot live without a rice cooker! I recently got a NONSTICK!!!! one from Hsn made by Wolfgang Puck and LOVE IT!! I've also made a mac and cheese, meat sauce pasta, and chocolate cake in it. The nonstick was a new thing for me, and after YEARS of soaking and scrubbing the old pot, omg it is SUCH a difference!

| I have the Pampered Chef one (I used to be a consultant), but honestly, I never make rice in it and don't even know how. I've used it to make Lava Cake, which is really a yummy moist cake and I think it can only be made in the PC version or one similar.

| Sheila, I use long grain rice. I also use a little more water than my rice cooker calls for, otherwise I find the rice isn't as fluffy as I'd like. You might need to experiment a little with whatever one you buy.
