Congrats on the tomato plants.

When I got home, mine were about two feet tall - I plan on putting them into gro-bags in the next day or so and into our greenhouse, the first thing to go in there.

Alot of my seedlings are up, but they are TEENY TINY! Is it OK to separate them? THey seem like they'd be pretty crowded if I don't.

How teeny tiny are we talking about? To be honest, they'll probably be OK, even though they look crowded. You have to have the roots well enough developed to pot them on. I potted on when mine were about three inches high and they didn't have much root on them then, but they took fine.

Yep - I'm very proud to say we do. It's not that big, I think maybe six foot by eight foot or eight foot by ten foot (I can't remember!) but big enough to put my vegetables in for the summer...

OK, then, I think I'll wait until they are three inches high before I try to move them. I just spent HOURS just trying to manage weeds here. It is really difficult!

Hey Veggie Growers! How are your gardens growing?

I have three kinds of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and cilantro.

Early in the season, the deer must have wanted a break from my flowers, and they munched on my veggies, but I think I saved them. I have netting over them now.

Oh my goodness - mine are going nuts! We have eight tomato plants, all at the greenhouse roof level, each with probably 20 fruit on. The two pepper plants have about five peppers on them. We've already had probably 15 strawberries and the cucumber plant is taking over the whole greenhouse - it's massive.

Sounds great! How much room do you leave between plants. Do you grow in containers or the ground?

Not enough clearly! We've learnt our lesson - this year, everything is in gro-bags, except the peppers and next year we'll definitely put the strawberries in gro-bags on a table, so they don't dangle on the floor.

How much space do you recommend leaving? I think I may need to replant a few of my veggies. I put them three to a big container. (They looked so SMALL when I first got them)

Are gro-bags the upside down bags?

How did I miss this one? mmm?
Anyway, I love to garden. Usually I plant a nice little garden, but this year I have been too busy.
I really miss it and won't skip it again.
I did however plant tomatoes in one of those topsy turvey bags. It seems to be doing well. I'll report back once I get produce.
