| Snack Ideas for A Friend with Newly Diagnosed Allergies Hi everyone, Since our girls are away with DM, we are having a totally adult night with our best friends. We are eating out (so dinner is not a problem), but since we are eating early in order to have a games night back at our place, I thought I would pick up some snacks. My friend has recently been diagnosed with some serious food allergies, so I checked with her first. She can't have gluten, dairy or chocolate. Does anyone have any good (and fast to pick up/get ready) snacks that we can have later tonight? Thanks

| Popcorn Potato Chips and Dip Veggies Small fruits - like cherry tomatoes, cherries, grapes, orange slices, apple slices Cheese and sausage cubes For something really nice, take about 16 cherry tomatoes and remove the top and scoop out. Turn upside down on towel (paper or clean cloth) to drain mix: 3 ounces cream cheese (soft) 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed 1 teaspoon milk Pipe the mixture into the tomatoes! Does your store have a natural foods area? Ours does, and there are tons of dairy, gluten, egg, sugar, chocolate, etc free snacks there - we've tried some, and some are really yummy!! |

| Watch for things like chips and dip -- gluten hides in so many things as thickeners or anti-caking additives. To be sure, you'll need to go to a place like Trader Joes or Whole Foods and buy things marked gluten-free on the package. Here's a list of a some GF snacks: http://www.celiaccentral.org/SiteDat...Candy-List.pdf Eileen

| I'm late, but we usually have tortilla chips and salsa and veggies with hummus for dipping, deviled eggs (made with dairy-free mayo, we like Vegenaise -the grapeseed oil variety - the best) for my nephew who has food allergies like that. We also do chunks of fruit like pineapple and watermelon, etc. Coming up with GFCF snacks can be a challenge.

| I like taking little chicken tenderloins and dipping them in crushed potato chips then baking at 350 until no longer pink, then you have your own chicken strips without the gluten. I have some gluten free cookies that are awesome too if you PM me.

| You can also do the breaded chicken thing with crushed (GF) rice or corn Chex cereal -- just make sure the box says Gluten Free on it. Eileen
