Bread Machines

I'm thinking of asking for a bread machine for Christmas - now that the girls are gone - it's just John, Sarah and I. Sarah doesn't like a lot of the commercial breads - but she loves the homemade stuff. I don't have time to bake and knead myself - so I'm thinking a machine might be great!! (Make my own pizza dough too!)

If you have one - what brand and/or features do you recommend??

What recipes have worked well for you?

What recipes were not worth your time?

Thanks in advance!

Marie, I can't recommend recipes (since the ones I use are gluten-free), but I do love my Breadman TR2500BC

It's reasonably-priced and well-rated. I love it!

The Zojirushi bread machines are more expensive, but many people rave about them. (Locally, I can find them at the best prices in my Asian supermarkets.)
Eileen

PS - in terms of features, you want to be able to program it for your own recipes (and most machines today have this feature.) Also, an "add in" feature is nice for being able to make fruit and nut breads.

Marie, I have one and I use it occaisionally but there is a bread cook book that has no knead recipes, you make the dough and keep in the refrigerator and then pull out what you need as you need it- there are recipes for pizza dough, ww bread etc- and I wasnt sure how it would taste but its great and has a much better flavor, consistency than machine bread, in my opinion,

try the basic bread and see-
