Thanks Ashli!!! That has helped me ALOT I sure appreciate it!!!

I don't like the cardio. I do like the 3-2-1 method, although I never know why they only spend 1 min in the abs. I feel as though I can do the cardio by walking or biking. Actually, I do more cardio after I am done her DVD on the stationary bike and pedal and read a magazine (more entertaining). My mil who does arm chair weights laughed at how little of weights we use Geeze, try to lift a 5 lb weight over your head while lying on the floor and bringing your leg up and see if she can do it.

I have been pushing around the idea of getting a Biggest Loser DVD but not sure whether or not they will work. I like Jillian because I know she does make you work out.

I will try to find the other tapes that you mentioned. I only have a Walmart but I will be going to Costco mid March.

My goal is after I am done this wk (which will take me about 9 days-I like to extend it), then to go to wk 2 and 3 and do the weights and abs for each wk, but only one wk of the cardio. Then the following wk do wks 1 and 4 with only 1 wk worth of cardio. What do you think???? That should get me to the middle of March for more tapes.

Thanks again!! I really really appreciate it!!!

Does your library rent fitness DVDs? I think a lot of them do now, and it's a great way to try out some new workouts/instructors before comitting to buying one.

I ahve the Biggest Loser Boot Camp DVD. If you don't have bad knees like me, it's a really good one. It only has Bob (along w/ contestants), no other trainers. I wnated to get the newest ones, but they have Anna in them, and I know I could not listen to her.

I also have The Firm 500 Calorie Workout. Amazon.com: Firm: 500 Calorie Workout: Kelsie Daniels: Movies & TV Other than the instructor getting a little off in her count (not matching the beat of the music in a few spots - annoys me!) a few times, I really like this one. There are some things I can't do yet becasue of my knees, so I modify and do what I can.

If you go to Collage Video, you can see smaples of all kinds of videos before you buy them.

Thanks everyone for all your info before. I am still at it. I finished Jillians tape (4 wks and yes, my tummy looks better although I don't think I will totally loose all that fat from babies) then asked a friend if I could borrow a few of his Bob Harper DVD. What a difference his are-very mellow, very calm, and low energy. I hate to admit it, but I like Jillian yelling at me in a fun way (aren't I terrible) Bob has a beginner work out tape...it ain't no beginner work out tape. No rests-nothing for 45 min ouch. He makes you do all your ab excersizes standing up because he says that when beginners lie down, they rest too much (true but ouch) I like his 10 min beginner Abs though.
So here I am almost 2 mths later. I don't look like Jillian. I work out for an hr a day and then my daily excersize besides. My inner core is alot better I don't know if I look any different. No one has commented on how I look. It isn't getting any easier to work out-actually more difficult. We leave in 3 wks, so I want to keep this going, but boy is it tough. Dh really likes it that I am doing it. But good grief...it is hard. Shouldn't it be easier? Shouldn't I enjoy this? My weight hasn't gone down by much. What is my problem?? any words of advice to get me through the next 3 wks? I have been doing a day of Bob, then Jillian...is that o.k???? And yes, I have been watching what I eat (which makes me grumpy because I am giving up on so much of my loved food)
Thanks a million for listening to me babble..

I'm sorry you are not enjoying your workouts. I think you should keep trying new dvds until you find something that you really love. Jillian has several others - if you like her as a leader, maybe you should try those? I used to dread working out, but I love Chalene's DVDs and actually look forward to doing them sometimes. (I say sometimes, because of course sometimes I'd rather just lay on the couch...LOL...but once I get going with one of her dvds I never regret it and end up feeling great) I think it's all about finding a match for yourself. It is frustrating not seeing the results you want/expect to see. I bet you DO look better than you think you do. Have you tried doing before/after pictures? When I do that, it is much easier to see how much I have changed for the better after a certain amount of time despite looking in the mirror and thinking I look exactly the same. Before/after pics are the ONLY time I will take pics of myself in a bikini. LOL! I hope you are able to find something that you really enjoy and fits your goals.

If anything your gaining muscle mass. That's a good thing! If your noticing the difference and seeing the difference than it sounds to me like it's working.

Thank you Ashli and Karadisney!!! I was away last few days.

Ashli I am going to see if I can get that DVD that you mentioned. I should have done a before and after photo. Good idea. Is it o.k to mix up the DVD and work out with one and then the other? As you get older, can you honestly get rid of some of that tummy you had when you were pregnant, because honestly, my arms are now seeing aging even though they are getting toned too.

Thanks everyone. Two more wks to go til I go away. I heard that Bob said on last wks Biggest Loser that you can lose weight while on holidays. You do 3 reps of 20 jumping jacks, squats, and pushups (ok..I can't do 10 LOL) each day and that will keep you toned up. I might try it this time out.

I too am trying to lose weight and be more healthy. Im on Weight Watchers which is fantastic. I love their points plus program and its on my I Phone so I don't have to go to meetings (if I don't want to) or weigh ins. Everything is on my phone. Im also working out 5-6 days a week.

Good luck!!!!!!! You'll get there. Don't get frustrated and give up!!!! You're doing great!!!!!

Update

Thanks everyone for your support!!!!!!!!
We are back from our holidays. I was shocked to find out that people wear bikini and all types of bathing suits no matter what size everyone is. I didn't have to be perfect. But I felt better that I excersized before we left.

I want to tell you what happened though. So many of you told me, not to look at the scale. Well, I couldn't do that, and we actually had a scale in our room (think it was for luggage, but what a treat) so I made sure i didn't over endulge too much but still ate what I wanted. Anyways, prices are higher in the Mayan than I thought. I never bought any clothes here, thinking I would buy stuff there and that didn't happen. So, when i got home, I went to the store and bought some Capris because for some unknown reason, my clothes were baggy on the trip (duh to me) and I kept on saying that they must have stretched due to the humidity. Weeeelllll, I found out that I went down 1 1/2 to 2 sizes!!!!!!!!!! I lost the weight in my butt. I never saw it happening! Dh made some comment, but I thought he was saying it to be nice.
So for all the frustration I went through, I found out that I lost inches. The weight, I still watch, but i lost inches. I am still in
Now that we are back, I have started my DVD once again. I am not liking doing it, to be honest, but I am back with Jillian again, with Bob Harper sprinkled in there here and there. Increasing my weights. I don't want to regain my stuff back with summer coming.
A million THANKYOUS for supporting me through this. I never ever thought I would see a size 9 or 10 in my life. I haven't been that size in 30 yrs if not more. It is amazing to see that these tapes work. Who would have guessed..not me

You sound like you are definitely on track. You should only weigh yourself once a week. Pick a day and weigh yourself on that day every week. But it is also the inches that you should be looking at too. If your clothes fit better or are looser....then that's great. Keep doing what you're doing. It's fabulous. Im doing the same thing. Im on WW and working out almost every day.

I just found Jillian Michaels Killer Buns and Thighs on sale at Walmart. I had to buy it. I started it 3 days ago. She is nicer in it. There are 3 stages. You advance I guess from the easier one a wk or so after starting the first stage. OMG, I thought the Ripped in 30 was difficult, but this one..wow. They don't appear to be difficult ie: fire hydrant, lifting leg on the floor up (70's style) etc. There are maybe 3 excersizes that are abit difficult or strange to get used to, but that is it. She has modifiers in them. But OUCH. Oh my gosh.
Dh is wondering why I am putting myself through this, and I wonder too, but I have been doing these tapes for 3 mths now and I don't want to give up. It has been raining and snowing here, so i need something to keep active. Sometimes I do wonder why I do this though.....
