I know it's not fall, but... another Weight Watchers friendly recipe
Well, this week was just blah. I could tell that I wasn't losing like I had before because my hunger wasn't as intense every three hours. It appears I've gained 2 lbs this week bringing my total weight loss so far to 6.
That's okay, I can't maintain a 3 lb loss every week anyway, right?
So what have I learned this week?
1. Count my fruit servings. Life may be a bowl of cherries, but eating a couple of bowls of cherries may not be so good. (I ate 4 cups of cherries in one day, people!)
2. Gaining is a part of losing. I gotta get over it.
3. The macaroni salad in the fridge must be silenced. I ate a bit for lunch one day. And by "bit" I mean 1 1/2 cups. Just keeping it honest.
It wasn't all less than proper choices. I still walked 2 miles 6 days this week and made this yummy salad:
Caramel Apple Salad
1 (8 ounce) container fat-free cool whip
4 large apples (Whatever kind you prefer)
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple tidbits
1 box jello fat free sugar-free instant butterscotch pudding mix
¼ cup chopped peanuts (optional) (We didn't put in because of peanut allergy)
Cut up apples into small pieces.
Add in all other ingredients (pineapple juice included) and mix.
Chill for 1 hour
Makes 8 servings
So here I am embracing my gain...and getting on the treadmill. Try the salad. My DH and boys were fighting over the leftovers!
Sounds yummy! How many points in a serving?? I have also embarked on the weight loss journey. I will weigh myself at work later today. Hopefully there will be a loss.
Claudine, hang in there! I know that it really stinks showing a 2 lb. gain, but really it is all part of the weight loss journey. Maybe your body could just be "balancing" itself out. Especially if you have been having some big losses back to back. Your body needs to "catch up". I had that happen to me a few weeks ago. Or it could just be watching the portion sizes or making healthier choices on what to eat. Or sometimes I forget to journal an item or two and that can show up on the scale at weigh in time, especially since I always use up all my 49 "play points" for the week and don't leave myself much of a cushion as a "just in case". But the key is to be honest with yourself and don't beat yourself up over it. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and let it go. See what you need to change or tweak. That will make you that much more successful down the road! You can always PM if you need to Weight Watcher vent!
This week I am struggling not only with the crazy heat wave, so thankful that I have my treadmill so I can sneak in some walking in the a/c, but I am craving chocolate, cake and anything else that is loaded with fat and major calories. Potato chips anyone? Fingers crossed that my weigh in will go well on Saturday morning. Too bad I can't bribe my scale to show me a loss! LOL!!!

!
I always warn my members that 0 Points Plus fruit does not mean unlimited fruit. Its easy to go overboard, especially this time of year.
Gains are a part of the journey. Just don't let them derail you !! Good luck, you're doing great
Thanks for the recipe! I have been stuck at -25 lbs for a month now. I have been slacking recently so I am sure that is not helping. I really need some motivation to keep going.

Thanks so much, Jodi! I just might take you up on that, and know you can do the same with me.
Have you tried Pop Chips? I haven't tried them yet, but I've heard they are a great chip alternative. I like Special K cracker chips in the sea salt flavor with a tuna sandwich.
Also, thanks *Pixie*Dust* for the encouragement! Keeping the fruit consumption to a minimum this week and bumped up my walking to 2.25 miles. I won't expect miracles, but there's always room to learn from the previous week.

I'm going to use our next family trip as my motivation. DH wants to go back to the Keys and chill on a beach. The picture of aquamarine water will hopefully motivate me through the dark winter.

It might help us both with our weight loss journey having a buddy that's going through the same thing! It helps knowing that I'm not the only one out there being on WW.
I haven't tried Pop Chips. But I better look into it because the dog gone potato chips here in my kitchen are taunting me!

BTW, Julia, 25 lbs is an awesome accomplishment!
Thanks! Disney is my motivation. We are going in Jan and I plan on being at goal weight by then. I am tired of not being in many pictures because I am unhappy about how I look. The beach is a great visual reminder!!
WW is a great program. I just tend to stop once I see a difference instead of keep going to goal.
Sending for will power against those "mega portions" on the cherries I had a set back after going to DL but it wasn't as bad as it could've been so I'm trying not to be too hard on myself. Good Luck!
