I have gotten out of the habit of bringing my lunch and have just renewed my commitment to eating in. I am looking to be inspired by others.
Today I brought a lunch I took often before my children were born-plain yogurt, strawberries and walnuts to be mixed together. I also had a small pack of carrots and snap peas with ranch dressing and some apple sauce. I keep peanut butter at the office but forgot to pack crackers so I may be heading out for them.
My lunch almost every day is the same (because I LOVE it!): I make a parfait out of vanilla fat-free yogurt, 80 calorie Fiber One Honey Squares, a sliced banana, and frozen blueberries. Speaking of which, I'm going to go eat one now!
Ashli, I love your yogurt combination. Do you make it ahead of time? I may alternate that with by yogurt and strawberry (or blueberry) and yogurt lunch.
salad: spinach, mixed greens, shredded iceberg (from tacos last night), shredded cheese, 3 sliced strawberries
plum
premade yogurt parfait (I will have to start making them like you ladies!)
coke zero

Well, two weeks ago I started drinking Visalus shakes. Today I made a tropical shake. Bananas, pineapple, strawberries, almond milk, 5 ice cubes and shake mix. I also had a boiled egg.

Right now I'm a stay-at-home-mom so I don't have to make it ahead, but I also didn't make it ahead when I was working. I was afraid the cereal would get soggy if it was in contact with the yogurt too long. Instead when I worked I would just take a cup of yogurt, a baggie of cereal, and the sliced up bananas. We had a fridge/freezer at work where I was able to keep a big bag of frozen blueberries. Then I would just layer it together at lunch. I do add chopped up strawberries in when they look good and are in season. I tried using the whole frozen ones, but they were really mushy when they started to thaw.
Today I am at home and DD Lauren made grilled cheese sandwiches.
Yesterday my lunch was a roast beef and cheddar cheese sandwich, yogurt, and 7 cherry tomatoes from our garden.
I usually bring leftovers, so today was leftover Spanish rice and steak mixed together.
I would rather bring salads, but our refrigerator at home is teeny tiny and there's really no room for a weeks worth of salad fixings.
I don't often work during the day (I work up to 8 hours a week in the evenings), so I eat lunch at home. Usually cooked fruit and Greek yogurt.
But today was special! I had lunch with my brother's children at an ice cream parlor. I split a grilled chicken sandwich with one my nieces and had a hot fudge sundae. I'm about to explode!
I don't work any more and don't ever have to pack a lunch any where but back when I did pack my lunches I would usually take a salad and have a little container to keep the dressing in so it didn't wilt the salad.
If I had use of a microwave I would also take leftovers from the dinner the night before.

My lunch is the same most days - cheese sandwiches (with home grown tomatoes at the moment! ) and oranges, some days bananas and other fresh fruit or if we run out of supplies of those, yoghurt.
DD is having grilled fresh mozzarella for lunch today so I may pick up some farmer's market tomatoes and make myself a tomato and mozzarella salad tomorrow. I have actually cut refined sugar and am adding other whites (flour, rice, etc.) today. So far so good-no cravings.
