For the sake of sandwich fillings...

What kind of bread do you buy?! We only get whole wheat - and none of that bleached flour for me!

Anyone remember Butternut bread from the 70's with the Peanuts?!?

Re: For the sake of sandwich fillings...

Oh my gosh! We had a Butternut outlet near us when I was growing up. Loved going in there just to see the Peanuts stuff.

As for bread, DH only eats wheat. I'm into Arnold's Country White bread.

Re: For the sake of sandwich fillings...

We buy mostly gourmet type breads from a bakery -- usually multi grain or something like it. We really don't buy much bread.

I'm not allowed to shop for bread in my family because I come home with breads with texture and flavor instead of Sunbeam.

I'm a plain jane... it's gotta be plain supermarket sandwich bread. It drives my fiancee absolutely NUTS 'cause he's all into the grainy stuff. ICK!

Re: For the sake of sandwich fillings...

Whole wheat. My MiL is here quite often and likes the plain ol' white stuff. But all we keep here is whole wheat.

We always have Rye and White in our house. My kids will eat either...it's hubby who is picky. He likes the white bread.

Bouyea Fassett's 100% Whole Wheat rules here.
My 5 year old prefers rolls to bread! She can eat a foot long sub from Subway by herself.

Re: For the sake of sandwich fillings...

100% Whole wheat or 12 or 7 grain for me or sometimes hearty nut. DH likes pseudo wheat. The kind that's wheat, but not whole wheat. DD eats whatever is put in front of her.

Re: For the sake of sandwich fillings...

Either Iron Kids (did you know they make it crustless) or I make my own on occasion, and although DH bought me a bread maker, I love to knead it myself.
