Not a clue, but I bet it isn't even close to that.

Re: Do you know your cholesterol level?

I had blood work on Friday too and my Dr. just called. Before I tell you my number, tell me what's normal.

To quote Young Frankenstein, I believe I'm "Abby Normal"

<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">Janet I think that under 200 is "normal" and from 200-240 is borderline. Anything over 240 is considered high.

Re: Do you know your cholesterol level?

He told me that I was just a tad high at 210. And ironically, I just started eating oatmeal at breakfast and walking at night just this week. So I'm sure I'll be under 200 in no time!

<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">Yeah, you are close and you'll be there in no time through diet and exercise. I'll tell you a secret - mine is controlled through meds. At age 31 I found out my cholesterol was through the roof - over 300 with terrible ratios. So I went on Zocor then and haven't been off for 4 years. I've got a terrible family history of heart disease, but it's stopping with me!

Re: Do you know your cholesterol level?

My last cholesterol test was about a year ago, and I can't remember the results. I do know it was below 200. And my good cholesterol number was incredibly good. Now that I'm eating oatmeal every morning, I guess it can only get better.

Re: Do you know your cholesterol level?

My overall number is in the 180's, but my LDL's, the "bad guys", are 110, with over 160 being bad. What a difference a few lbs made. LOL

Re: Do you know your cholesterol level?

Down around 170 or so. I go next Tuesday (9/3) at 6:40 AM for my six month test. I'm on meds for it (Lipitor). For years I was borderline and could not get it down lower. 3 years ago I started the meds and that did it.

I was on Baycol up till last summer. It got pulled off the market. They think that may have contributed to my hospitalization last summer for chest pains.

Re: Do you know your cholesterol level?

I was at 380 two years ago. I brought it down myself in a year under 300, but the dr. put me on Lipitor. I am now in the low 100's. I could probably control it better if I would lose some weight. If I don't do that on my own, I'll probably get a very strict diet. I'm trying and I've started walking.
