Does anyone here work out at Curves? I just joined a 'gym' called Curves that is for women only. The work-out takes 30 minutes where you excercise on a hydraulic machine for 30 seconds, then march in place for 30 seconds then another machine then more marching, etc. for half an hour. My heart rate was definitly in the target range and I was sweating like crazy but I don't feel any soreness that I normally expect from a work-out. Maybe this is just what I need to finally lose the baby fat - the baby just turned 4!

Re: Does anyone here work out at Curves? My mom goes to Curves! She loves it! I'm still doing my home workout, but I may check out Curves when Donovan is a little older (and can stay with Daddy while I workout). How do you like it?

Re: Does anyone here work out at Curves? Chrissi, today was my first day, so I don't know how I like it yet! Several of my friends joined about 2 months ago, and they said they are noticing a difference in their clothes. I need to lose quite a few pounds, so hopefully this will be the beginning of a new me.

Re: Does anyone here work out at Curves? I joined a Curves in my area for a year when they first opened. I enjoyed it, and it made a big difference. However, Curves idn't have the greatest hours, and I had a hard time fitting it into my schedule. My husband and I now walk together on a daily basis, which I really enjoy. Have fun. KathyL.

Re: Does anyone here work out at Curves? Let me know how you like it Janet. They just opened one about a mile from my house and I have been curious about them. Do you have to sign a contract or anything like that?

Re: Does anyone here work out at Curves? Margo, yes you have to sign a contract. I joined with a friend so we both got half off the intial fee of $79 (normally $149, but they were having a special) and it's $39 per month but if you pay for a year up front they take off 10 %. So instead of $617, we each paid $458. By paying in advance, we figure it will keep us motivated to continue since we don't want to lose the money. Their hours are not very good though: It's 9-1 and 4-7 or 7:30. And their only open 3 hours on Saturday morning and not at all on Sunday. I'll let you know how it is after I've gone a few times.

Re: Does anyone here work out at Curves? Janet45 - I joined Curves on 10/7 too! (I've been carrying around the baby fat from my oldest DD for 5+ years.) Today was my second time doing the workout, and that half hour really flies. My heart rate was in target after just a few machines, and boy did I break a sweat! Our Curves location has only been open for 1 month, and in that month the members lost a total of 200 inches! The hours are great IMHO: 7 -11 and 3 - 8 M-F and 7 - 11 on Saturday. I also joined w/ a friend, and we each paid $49 to enroll and $39 month-to-month fee. ($29/mo. if you sign up for the year). Lots of luck! I'm looking forward to my first "measuring" the day before we leave for Disney World!
