| Jar cookie mixes? Does anyone have any recipes to make those "jar cookie mixes?" These are the "layered" mixes where the dry cookie ingredients are put into Mason Jars -- with an attached tag on how to "finish" the recipe? I want to make some of these as Christmas gifts, but I cannot find any good recipes... Thanks! Michelle |

| Re: Jar cookie mixes? Michelle, try allrecipes.com (sorry, I never have any luck pasting web addresses) and search 'cookie mix in a jar', it will give you several recipes. I know I've actually even received in the mail (in one of those coupon packets) information about ordering those recipes (cookes, soups, etc). If I find it, I'll post again! I'm sure others will come along with more ideas too. |

| Re: Jar cookie mixes? This a very pretty mix - looks very nice layered in the jar (and tastes yummy, too!) Sand Castle Brownie Mix 1/3 cup chopped nuts 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1/3 cup flaked coconut 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 3/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup backing cocoa 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour Additional Ingredients: 2 eggs 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon vanilla extract In a 1-qt. class container, layer the first seven ingredients in order listed, packing well between each layer. Cover and store in a cool dry place for up to 6 months. To prepare brownies: In a bowl, combine eggs, oil, vanilla and brownie mix; mix well. Spread into a greased 8" square baking pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. A variation is to omit coconut and add peanut butter chips (1/2 cup). Enjoy! | Re: Jar cookie mixes? These are fun, I'm doing some for Christmas gifts as well. The Current catalog has a little cookbook dedicated to these yummy gifts here and it's a bargain at $3.99 |
