I\'m Hungry!

I need some snack suggestions for variety in my diet. I'm trying to be good (not perfect), and am looking for tasty treats that won't sabbotage me. Any ideas? TIA!

Re: I\'m Hungry!

Good luck with that - I'm real good about going to the gym (ladies workout express) 3-4 times a week, but my diet is terrible. I am always hungry.... I wish I had some ideas for you, but I would just steer you in the bad, bad direction .

Good luck with your diet!!!!!

Happy Day!! Kristine

Re: I\'m Hungry!

OMG!! I am so in love with Quakes - they're a rice-based snack that come in a variety of flavors. My favorite are the carmel corn and cheddar. It's the perfect treat - sweet, crunchy and has really helped knocked out the cravings.

They're by Quaker but can be hard to find - look where the rice cakes are. Don't be turned off by the word 'rice cake' they are so NOT like cardboard!

Re: I\'m Hungry!

Quakes are good They don't taste like "rice cakes"! I always go for baby carrots. They always seem to fill me up. I also eat Quaker Chewy Granola bars (low fat). I think they're only 120 calories, not that bad.

When I was preggie, I'd always have a cup of yogurt (lite) in the afternoon to get more calcium. I think it was around 80-100 calories (Columbo Light mixed berry) and filled me up as well.

Good luck

Re: I\'m Hungry!

Thanks for those suggestions, they will definitely come in handy. I should clarify that I'm not on any specific diet, just watching what I eat a little more.

Re: I\'m Hungry!

Little Debbie Ginger Bread cookies are delicious and only 2 points on Weight Watchers! One of those and some skim milk have gotten me out of the munchies a few times! Good luck!

Re: I\'m Hungry!

My favorite low cal snacks are Lays baked dorritos (not the potato chips) in regular and cool ranch flavor. They have only 120 calories per serving.

Re: I\'m Hungry!

If you can find them, the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches are amazing. Around here, Walmart is the only place that carries them. They are a very good size and taste just like a very fattening normal icecream sandwich. They are only 120 Cal/or two points with w/w. I have one every day to get me through my sweet craving!

Re: I\'m Hungry!

I'm trying to eat more fruit as snacks, so lately I have been snacking on grapes, apple slices, strawberries or fresh pineapple (I can't eat the canned!). For a low fat fruit dip,, combine one fat free cream cheese with one jar marshmellow creme. This is how I get my kids to eat fruit!

I snack on baby carrots as well. For sweet tooths, the Little Debbie chocolate chip cakes have 3 WW points, so when I gotta have a cookie, I go for that. Also, Girl Scout thin mints aren't bad if you can limit it to just a few! Another think I like are the ranch Wheatables, yummy!

Re: I\'m Hungry!

I am still trying to watch my carb intake, so I usually go for string cheese or some pistachios.

Re: I\'m Hungry!

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions! So far I have tried the Quakes in Caramel and Ranch. Loved the caramel, didn't care for the ranch. It didn't have that true, buttermilk ranch flavor. But, there are plenty of other flavors to try so I'm happy.

I tried the Skinny Cow too. They were out of the sandwiches, so I got the fudgecicles. (I know I spelled that wrong, but can't for the life of me think of the correct spelling. LOL).

We are eating more fruit, but my DS Chris asked me to get a container of the chocolate dip for the fruit. (He is his mother's son). So when I get my monthly craving for chocolate, at least it's tempered by a bite of fruit.
