What\'s your favorite thing to bring for lunch at work? As I'm sitting here eating my lunch at work, I started wondering if anybody has any fun ideas of something to bring. I'm eating soup for the umpteenth day in a row and am looking for new ideas!

Re: What\'s your favorite thing to bring for lunch at work? I am never hungry in the am so I never feel like making a lunch- so I usually end up with yogurt and cereal or soup or a salad. Sometimes leftovers. Yogurt probably most often with some other thing thrown in- Sheila

Re: What\'s your favorite thing to bring for lunch at work? Well since I only started back to work last week, and we really don't get an official lunch break unless we want to start coming in 30 minutes early or docked 30 minutes in pay, I've just been taking a sandwich. Last week it was 3 days of peanut butter and jelly, and 2 days of turkey. I'm going to make some tuna fish for this week though. We just eat as we're working or take a quick 10 minutes and then it's back to work!

Re: What\'s your favorite thing to bring for lunch at work? I always have leftovers unless there just wasn't enough left for both of us to take for lunch. Then I'll hit subway for a salad or small sandwich.

Re: What\'s your favorite thing to bring for lunch at work? Usually a sandwich (Turkey, tuna, etc.) and fruit. I often buy soup too if it something I like. At work they make alot of creamed soups, which I try to stay away from! So metimes I bring leftovers too!

[/ QUOTE ] It's that whole working nights thing! It really screws up my eating schedule. That is why it is sometimes hard to come up with lunch items as some things just don't sound good at 3 or 4 am in the morning! We do potlucks from time to time so I have been known to eat burgers, hot dogs or pizza in the middle of the night. We actually will grill on the Foreman grill at work. Works great! ![]() |

Re: What\'s your favorite thing to bring for lunch at work? I have Lean Cuisine, not my favorite, but I was in a hurry this morning and didn't have time to fix anything. I always keep a couple Lean Cuisines in our fridge at work for days like this. But I do have some fresh Pineapple for my afternoon snack (I wish I had caramel sauce to go with it like at O'hana)!!

Re: What\'s your favorite thing to bring for lunch at work? Vicki, if you can grill at work try this. Grill sliced red peppers and portobella mushrooms, put on whole wheat toast with a little goat cheese or cream cheese. It's my favorite new sandwich for lunch! Michele

Michele [/ QUOTE ] That sounds delicious. I have to bring my lunch everyday, or eat at one of the hundreds of restaurants here downtown. I usually bring one of those frozen vegetable things - like broccoli with zesty (zesty!) cheese and I'll microwave a vegetarian sausage patty to go with it. I'm boring, but it's easy. I HATE making my lunch every night. |

Re: What\'s your favorite thing to bring for lunch at work? Thanks for all of the great ideas! Hopefully I can spice up my lunches a little bit! Going out to eat is not really an option since the only thing open at night at the hospital is McDonalds! Yes, you did read that correctly! We have a brand new heart hospital addition opening up and we have a McDonalds on campus. Somehow the two just don't go together. ![]()

Re: What\'s your favorite thing to bring for lunch at work? My favorite is soup. I always make it homemade (due to sodium and MSG issues) so I put it in small bowls to take to work. I'm not a real big fan of sandwiches but I do enjoy wraps. Roast beef with cheddar cheese and you microwave it for a few seconds.
