Major help needed in recipe and quickly

How would I go about making a strawberry shortcake? My DD wants me to make one for her b-day on Monday.

TIA
Gina

Re: Major help needed in recipe and quickly

I usually just cut an angel food cake into three layers and put whipped cream and sliced strawberrie b/w each layer, topping off with more whipped cream and strawberries. You can even tint the cream pink with a little food coloring. Have fun!

We take either Angel Food Cake or Pound Cake and top with loads of sliced strawberries and mounds of homemade whipped cream. Yummmmm...........

Everyones suggestions are great. Just wanted to mention that they now sell strawberry cool whip and I believe it's already pink!

Re: Major help needed in recipe and quickly

I make sweet biscuits with Bisquick. It is your basic drop biscuit recipe with a little sugar in it. I think I add about 1/4 cup? Not much of a measurer, I just throw things together. This is how we always had it growing up. Lots of sliced strawberries and REAL whipped cream. Not coolwhip. It is soooooooo good. Now I want some!

In a pinch, I use Twinkies for the shortcake!! Otherwise, the strawberries never last long enough around here for me to make a shortcake!
