Re: Next installment of Survivor Wow! Do we really need to see a "social experiment"? I think this screams one thing. "We need big ratings" And what brings big ratings better than controversy? While I don't know about this one (and don't like it) as a Suvivor fan, I will watch.

Re: Next installment of Survivor I just read about this before coming here. I will watch as I am a survivor fan, but not sure I like the way they are doing it.

Re: Next installment of Survivor I don't like that at ALL! I didn't even like it when they divided by education on the apprentice or gender on survivor, really. Then whatever the division is just becomes the theme of the show and causes generalizations. I can see it now - "Well, looks like the "insert race here" players must be more athletic!" I like it when the show is focused on game play and strategy, not controversy. That said, I sure hope I am wrong as I love the show passionately.

Re: Next installment of Survivor If you read where people are from the majority are from Califonia....7 from LA alone. How does that show "diversity"? If they were differant races from all over the country...MAYBE but they are almost all from Cali? I don't know how I feel about the races being divided into differant teams. It just seems very strange that they would play that angle.

Re: Next installment of Survivor As a Sociologist...I like the social experiment of it all...I would love to see the difference of the internal group dynamic…but it is a TV show. I don't watch TV shows for social experiments.

Re: Next installment of Survivor When I first read about this, I was really surprised, but now I'm thinking it might be interesting. I bet they get better ratings this season, just out of curiosity from people who may not normally watch.

Re: Next installment of Survivor OK I just went and checked out the contestants. What bugs me more than anything is we have a group of "Super Model" faces again, and twelve of them are from California! Come on, let's get some real folk from all over the country, please?!?!?!?

Re: Next installment of Survivor I think they did it to boost ratings. They were talking about it last night on a show on MSNBC and they said that none of the contestants minded being put together by race. A former contestant said that all it really comes down to is who can you align yourself with to win a million dollars.
