As requested here's my review for Happy Feet.

Tyler (9), Caroline (almost 4) and I went to the sneak peak last week. Tyler enjoyed it, Caroline got bored half way through and then fell asleep towards the end.

The animation is quite good as is the music. It started off about finding a mate with your "heart song", went into about being different and having to conform to fit into society and then got into pollution and ocean preservation.

There were a few scary parts and I think it got a bit preachy towards the end and lost some of the younger audience.

I was glad that we didn't pay to see this and I don't intend on adding it to our DVD collection. I just didn't like the ending - a bit too far fetched for my liking.

I took my 10 year old and he thought it was great. I went into the movie not knowing much about it, so was pleasantly surprised. I definitely agree with you about some parts could be scary for younger kids and I could really see how younger kids could get bored by it. Most of the kids in the theatre were younger, when I saw it. The first part of the movie is geared toward younger kids and I think the advertising is too, although it is rated "PG" even though the commercials make it look more "G".

We saw it today at the IMAX theater. We liked it pretty well! Emilie did get bored a bit towards the end, but then she tends to do that with EVERY movie because "it's too LONG!" [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

I thought the messages were all pretty good but agree that there were quite a few preachy parts. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] There were also some quite funny parts as well . . . I thought Hugh Jackman did an awesome "Elvis" impersonation and Robin Williams's characters were hilarious (in my opinion [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] ).

There were a couple of parts that quite a few kids were a bit scared of though. There were also a few "jokes" and gags that will fly right over kids' heads, but they aren't offensive or anything like that. (for instance, there is a nod to "2001: A Space Odyssey" somewhere in the movie. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif[/img] )

All in all, we didn't think it was too bad at all! Seeing it on an IMAX screen was pretty cool too! I don't think it was necessarily worth the $10 per adult/$8 for Emilie we paid [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img] but then that's why we rarely go out to see a movie! I like well enough. I did not like that mumble had his baby feathers for the whole movie. Did you notice that he had a bow tie and spats. LOl
