The Beatles LOVE / Cirque Du Soleil

Being a HUGE Beatles fan (as well as a big Cirque Du Soleil fan) I must say that I am totally excited about the new album that was released today: LOVE. The album is the soundtrack for the new Cirque show about the fab four. They went back to the original tapes and remixed to make a sound that is distinctively Cirque while also being classic Beatles. Give it a try...

It's on AOL's Full CD Listening Party this week -- go to music.aol.com -- and I've been alternating between this one and Chris Daughtry's new one. Love both of them, and I think I know what Mom's getting for Christmas.

This show was one of the main reasons I planned on visiting Vegas this May! (I'm not much of a gambler) Was it hard to get tickets?

Re: The Beatles LOVE / Cirque Du Soleil

I saw a live spot of this show on Jay Leno the other night. I thought it was cheesy to say the least. Not what I expected from Cirque at all. Based on the one 3 minute piece, I would not want to see the whole show. It was very boring.

But now, some of you might find it great, I don't know. It just didn't float my boat!

I went in June when it was still in a soft opening and bought the tickets 2 months in advance. I'd buy them as soon as you can to get the best seats. If you don't have them when you get into Las Vegas go to the box office and ask what the stand by policy is. Most Las Vegas shows hold some tickets back for high rollers and if they don't use them put them on sale the day of the show (usually 1-3 hours before it starts). Whatever time they tell you the tickets go on sale try to line up about an hour before for your best chance. You're more likely to get tickets that way midweek during slow times. I've done it several times (but never on a weekend) and always gotten tickets. The best thing about it is they are usually some of the best seats in the house!
