| Paris Hilton sentenced to 45 days in jail This just in..... Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton was given a 45-day prison sentence by a Los Angeles court Friday for driving with a suspended license. She swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse, ignoring screams from photographers lining the route like it was a movie premiere. Prosecutors wanted the jail term because she violated the terms of her probation for an alcohol-related reckless driving conviction. Paris Hilton sentenced to 45 days in jail - CNN.com

| I'm glad she is going to jail (if she really does). To so publicly defy the law is worth going to jail for.

| I'm honestly surprised that she got jail time. With the amount of money Paris has, I thought she'd get a slap on the wrist, yet again. I can only imagine what a celebrity jail would be like. Even if it is comfortable, I hope that being incarcerated is more a psychological punishment. The fact that she will be physically confined, deprived of personal freedom, and the fact that she has a criminal record should concern her. Don't you think? I'm just glad they decided to take this step now, and not wait until she kills someone while she is drunk driving. I'm sure her lawyers are going to appeal this, but I hope they have the rocks to stick with this decision. It's incredible, the number of celebrities/performers with alcohol problems. Adults behaving like spoiled children, not taking responsiblity, just getting expensive lawyers and spending a couple of weeks in rehab. Maybe she can negotiate a starring role in "Prison Break."

| I think it's time that celebrities get treated the same way we do. I heard on the news that this judge could have sentenced her to house arrest, but wanted to set an example. Money can't buy you everything!

| and now she's pouting that it's "not fair" b/c her publicist told her she could still drive?!? on a suspended license?!? She and London Tipton have more in common than I thought...dumber than a bag of hammers!
