| What are your favorite non-Disney quotes? I've got a few... A funny one: "Styles of comedy will come and go, but one thing will always remain the same: farts are funny." - Groucho Marx And a sad one: "You may my glories and my state depose, But not my griefs, still am I king of those." William Shakespeare Richard II 4.1.192-3

| A couple of my favorites are: "Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh." W. H. Auden and "To repeat what others have said, requires education; to challenge it, requires brains." Mary Pettibone Poole

| Here are a couple of my favorites. “There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you.” - Woody Hayes "May you always walk in sunshine. May you never want for more. May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door." - Irish Proverb

| Some of mine are: “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and swing.” Leo Buscaglia “Some cause happiness wherever they go, others whenever they go.” Oscar Wilde “It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not.” Unknown (to me at least) “I was in darkness, but took three steps and found myself in paradise. The first step was a good thought, the second a good word; and the third a good deed.” Nietzche “There is no duty we so much underrate as the duty of being happy.” Robert Louis Stevenson “Attitudes are capable of making the same experience either pleasant or painful.” John Powell |

| To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; This is to have succeeded. - Ralph Waldo Emerson (I adore this quote!) |

| I forgot one... it was by an old blues man who was playing an open mic night at a little blues club near Toledo, OH. He was an amazing piano player, but when his set was over it took him a good long while to stand up, shuffle to the back door, and open it. I got up to help him, but another man reached him before I did. And as I got close I heard him say... "Life is good when you take your time." and he laughed and laughed and laughed his way right out the door. I never saw him again, but I love that quote!

| I quotes. I write all my faves down in a journal and switch ones around on my facebook page all the time. So first, as a jab at myself “Quotes are nothing but inspiration for the uninspired.” - Richard Kemph Now on to some of my faves ![]() "The friends who grew up with you deserve a special respect. The ones who stuck by you shoulder to shoulder, in a time where nothing was certain, all life lay ahead, and every road led home." - The Wonder Years “So far from forgetting the blessed place, I think my picture of it grows clearer every year: it was as close to magic as I've ever been . . ..” - Thomas Wolfe, on UNC "Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Martin Luther King, Jr. "An alcoholic is someone you don't like who drinks as much as you do." - Dylan Thomas "Love is everything it's cracked up to be…It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for." - Erica Jong “What is it that binds us to this place as to no other? It is not the well or the bell or the stone walls. Or the crisp October nights or the memory of dogwoods blooming. No, our love for this place is based on the fact that it is, as it was meant to be, the University of the people.” - Charles Kuralt, on UNC Cauliflower is nothing but cabbage with a college education. - Mark Twain (don't know why I love that one, it just makes me laugh )"In the South, the breeze blows softer...neighbors are friendlier, nosier, and more talkative...This is a different place. Our way of thinking is different, as are our ways of seeing, laughing, singing, eating, meeting and parting. Our walk is different, as the old song goes, our talk and our names. Nothing about us is quite the same as in the country to the north and west. What we carry in our memories is different too, and that may explain everything else." --Charles Kuralt in "Southerners: Portrait of a People" And some of my faves are only personal to me - nothing famous. Now I say that all the time, even though it doesn't make sense to those who weren't there. "That was good enough to make doves cry!" ![]()

There is no try!" Master Yoda, Empire Strikes Back "Who's the more foolish: The fool, or the fool who follows him?" Ben Kenobi, Star Wars "Remember: When they make the ice, they make it slippery side up."
