| I can't believe people would lie to see Hannah Montana! I just don't get it. I guess it's becuase my kids aren't into her, but I can't believe this mother would encourage or allow such a lie. I also saw a news story this AM on it, and they said the mother's remark was "No one said it had to be a true story". People! | Wow, that's a new low. What is this child going to think of her mother when she gets a little older and realizes the truth? Since they already told the child she won, I can understand the decision to go ahead with it, but couldn't they have picked a second winner? Someone who won honestly? And the parents of kids who did enter the contest by the rules, they are going to have to explain to their children why a cheater won. Nice going lady.

| Why would anyone lie about something like that? That's horrible. Hannah Montana is not worth teaching your children to lie.

| I understand why they would still go through and give the girl the tickets, at 6 I doubt that the child could come up with that story alone... It is really sad though that the mother would even think up this kind of story in order to get the tickets with her child...or even if she was not a part of it I am sure she mailed it out.... |

| Our news station said they revoked her prize and awarded it to another girl. Even at 6, she needs to see that there are consequences for telling a lie, not getting away with it. It makes me sick that a mother would do that to a child, sounds too much like using her to shoplift.

| Can you imagine, "No one said it had to be true. We just wrote what we had to, to win" What a sad I bet the company will double and triple check everything next time they have an essay contest (if they ever do it again).

| I don't know what to say.... I can't imagine the mindset of a person... Dawn is right, there was a link to another article on the same page that stated this girl did not win the prize, and it will be awarded to another person: Garland girl with fake contest entry won't get to see Hannah Montana after all | Dallas Morning News | News for Dallas, Texas | Latest News

| Well since this is a local story, I've been hearing about this on ALL tv stations. What I found interesting was the video they shot at Club Libby Lu with the 6 y.o. getting all glamed up and her mother standing there. The reporter starts to ask the little girl about the story and her "soldier father" when the mother got in between the girl and the reporter. Later her aunt (outside their home) said that the mother didn't know the story needed to be true. I also think that the little girl had nothing to do with this story and that it was ALL mom. I think it's really horrible when someone doesn't know a story needs to be true! Well since they took the prize away from this little girl, I hope her mom will fess up and tell her it was because she lied. People still shock me.

| Wow--- that's unbelievable. I don't get the whole Hannah Montanna thing, but there's just no excuse for that. What a disgrace. At the same time, I feel kind of bad for the little girl (I know that probably sounds ridiculous) but having a seven year old--- I have a hard time believing that was a 6 year old's idea--- and that must be heartbreaking to have it taken away from her. I'm not saying they shouldn't have taken it away from her--- I totally understand them doing it, and I'm sure it was the right thing to do, but at the same time, I still feel bad for her.

| I know my daughter, who is the same age as the little girl, would NOT be able to come up with a story like that . . . and she would be DEVESTATED if the she had gotten Hannah Montana tickets only to have them taken away. Serves the mother right that now she has to deal with her daughter being so upset. Dumb lady. The entire thing just makes me angry.

| DH and I saw the story on the news yesterday and we were beside ourselves. So much wrong with the whole thing - the mother allowing the child to lie, lying about someone dying, someone dying in the war......just disgusting all around.
