Do you know the next American Idol?

How many of you know someone that tried out and has made it to the Hollywood round?
Heres mine. I dont know this kid, but my daughters fiance does and buys the hay for his farm from Drew Poppelwriter. Drew is from Saltillo, Ms and they did a little piece on him and his family on their farm. His try out was in Dallas.
OK so maybe I should rename this post to " Who has a 7 degrees of seperation to AI!!?"

The closest I come is that I was at a wedding that Clay Aiken sang at before he was on American Idol (he's a NC native). This was pre-Idol, pre-makeover, but I remember thinking he was very good. The reason he was the wedding singer is that the bride's mother (my BFF's aunt) was his high school principal. He talks about her a lot in his book (she's Dr. McMasters) and she and him are still very close and she's on the board for his charity, etc.

I really want one of my friends to try out for Idol! He's at the best music school in the state for vocal performance. He's got a little of the Clay dorkiness in him, but I think those Idol stylists could do somethin' with his hair. He has the voice! He doesn't want to try out though, at least not until he graduates college.

DH's company does a lot of work with Blake Lewis' dad's company. In fact DH's uncle is good friends with Blake's dad and we often got updates and behind the scenes info from them while Blake was on AI last season. Blake just bought a house outside of Seattle and DH's company is doing the electrical work for the remodel.

Also, I know the traffic lady on one of our local radio stations. Well, she knows Josh Brown, kicker for the Seattle Seahawks, and he is friends with Carrie Underwood. So that's like three degrees of separation.

This is so cool. Its amazing that it really is true about the 7 degrees. There is a gentleman that lives in the next town over that is Carrie Underwoods bus driver, but alas I dont know him or where they keep the bus!!! I just know that he is cause it was in our local paper.
NPR for that post, just thought would be interesting.
