I wonder if they'll change their name now that they're all pushing 40; can hardly call themselves "kids" anymore, lol! Jonathan Knight is 40 and a real estate developer. Jordan is 37. Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood are 38 and Joey McIntyre is 35.

Even though they're my age, their music wasn't cool for us college kids; they were more for the teenybopper set. Still, I liked some of their songs.

I got to meet Joey McIntyre a few years ago when he was in Wicked on Broadway, before his DWTS stint. He was very nice, and still pretty cute, too!

*Raises hand and hangs head in shame* I was Lisa, I used to adore Donnie Wahlberg . I don't really know how I feel about the reunion, my music tastes changed quite dramatically when I was about 17 and I give all my New Kids things away.

You're right, they certainly aren't Kids anymore, maybe they should change their name.

I was a New Kids fan but once they changed their name to NKOTB, it was over.

I was a Joey girl.


It's interesting to see that they are going to get back together considering, even as of a year ago, whenever Jonathan was interviewed about New Kids, he always said he was in no way interested in doing "that" again.

I see this as going the way of the New Edition reunions . . . multiple attempts at success and lukewarm sales.


I mean . . . how are they supposed to PROPERLY perform "Please Don't Go Girl" or "I'll Be Loving You (Forever)" when neither Joey nor Jordan can hit those pre-pubescent notes anymore?

They were after my teenybopper time, so no, I wasn't a fan.

But it's funny you should mention their age in relation to their stage name. I was recently watching a video of the Beastie Boys, and mentioned to Paul that, considering they are all middle-aged now, calling themselves boys doesn't seem to fit.

I loved New Kids on the Block (I guess it helped that some/most were from Boston so they were "locals" )!! And I too was a Joey fan

I liked them too. I can't imagine they'll be able to sing the same songs. It'll sound like a bunch of old guys trying to sing like 16 year olds.

My walls were PLASTERED w/ pictures of NKOTB. Remember sticky tack instead of tape??? They were my first concert. I'm proud to say I've seen ALL the major boybands at least once. (Nsync was twice!)
