Angry Anyone else disgusted at the commercials on TLC?

Here my son and I are watching Jon and Kate plus 8 and the commercials are for some show on murders. If that's not bad enough they show the body in the water. Who was the ad wizard that put that commerical on during this show?

We always keep the remote set with the Disney channel when watching those kinds of things and hit the toggle button as soon as the commercials start. If, for some reason, we miss it, they know to close their eyes. I HATE so many commercials these days...

That's terrible. I'm sorry that happened to you guys. I definitely think the people placing ads aren't being as careful as they used to be. It's especially true for ads for their own network shows. I often think that I'm glad my kids are older these days so that I don't have to worry about just that (as much).

Those are bad.
What I hate are the "pop ups" that the network puts at the bottom of the screen (they don't seem to be controlled by a person - they must be timed) that obscures material in the program, esp. on shows on History Channel, etc that have someone's name or title, or something interesting about the subject.

I had to record Jon and Kate last night and just watched it this morning. that commercial came on during every break. At least I could fast forward through it because my 3yo loves the sextuplets but doesn't need to see those commercials.

You sound like my DH. He absolutely freaks if they interfere with wording.

I'm the tv surfer type so I'm always turning to other shows so miss most commercials.

I was thinking of those commercials on the Travel Channel about the guy Bodine or something that goes around eating weird stuff. I have to change the channel when they come on. Love Survivor but can't watch the food challenges.

Yes--- I hate their commercials. Danny loves the Jon and Kate when they go to Disney and we have it on DVR, but I have to sit close by so he doesn't see the commercials of the woman who examines the dead bodies.

I think the CSI commercials are just as bad; death, dying, murder. Awful. The show is so god awful I have no idea why it continues to succeed on TV in the first place.

DS loves Red Bull Air Racing... the commercials are awful. Mostly women with extra large who-ha's talking about male enhancement. Or women with extra large who-ha's talking about hair replacement. Or women with extra large who-ha's talking about weight loss. You get the picture. He doesn't get to watch it unsupervised. Thank goodness for the DVR - I can FF through the whole nonsense.

We don't have a DVR either! I was actually upset when our VCR recently quit working and I went to buy a new one only to find out that you can't buy just a plain old VCR anymore! They only make VCR/DVD combos now.

I am very disgusted with the R and PG13 rated movie previews that they show in the middle of family movies. We can't make it through a full movie without having to make the kids cover their eyes at least once!
