| GREAT! Let's double the beads and do the next eight beads this week. Then...who knows...we can choose to double that the following week! How does that sound? As far as my question of the week for last week, I spent alot of time thinking about what my little voice is telling me. I've come up with "Spend some time getting back to basics, Sandy." For me, that means get my systems re-organized (I'm self-employed and my business keeps growing, but if I don't grow my systems along with everything else, I end up with a mess.) Also, basics include eating right and exercising, Great work, book club! ![]() |

| Hi Everyone! I thought that, even though we are reading the next 8 beads this week, I thought I'd break the discussion into 4 beads each. (Mainly because I have so many ideas and I'll forget them as I go on.) You can feel free to post general ideas, go bead by bead, or just say "Hi" in any way you'd like.Bead number five struck me in two ways: I felt amazed at the honesty of self-awareness AND comforted by the author's testament to time's healing powers. Bead 6 made me think. She talked about that one wierd answer that kept coming up when she asked herself "What do you want to YOU want to do?" SOOOOO, a question of the week: "What do YOU want to do?" Do you have any wierd answers? Bead 7 seemed to ask another question, maybe similar to the one above. If your heart were to stand up, brush itself off, take a deep breath, and announce your TRUE wishes, what would it say? Bead 8 seemed to center around yet another question. If you could bring one question to a wise teacher who you felt pretty sure would have an answer, what would your question be? I really like the concept in bead 8 when they medicine man promised that she would never have a reason to worry, then asked if she believed him. I also like the concept of staying grounded to keep balance. There is very little to be gained from flaking out, I think. I'm off to read the other four beads. i LOVE this book even more the second time. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the questions. Feel free to add your own as well. Carry on! |

| I am so excited! I finally have my copy of the book, and I picked it up at the annual book sale in my hometown for only $2! Maybe it was a good thing that I forgot to pick it up the day that I was at Barnes and Noble.

| It looks like there has been a break in the storms - So I'm going to try and get a post completed before the next brown/black out. Thoughts from the Beads - Bead 5: An excellent insight at the author's state of mind during this time. The inclusion of 9/11 really makes me feel closer to the author because I can really place this story on a real life timeline. I feel like she is really hitting bottom. The description of her affair with David shows that how desperate she really was. If you want an example of codependent behavior WOW!, this relationship is definitely it. Bead 6: I call this bead the bead on self exploration. What sticks out in my mind is what a lucky lady? Here she is faced with the question What do You want to do, Liz? She is lucky enough that she can answer that question. I recall in the Oprah interview even she admitted that she was blessed in the ability to do whatever she wanted. Many of us, as mothers (especially if you have little ones), don't really have that option. Bead 7: "I honor the divinity that resides within me" I really enjoy this mantra. Bead 8: The call this bead "The right Question" I must say last night it really blew me away when I noticed that the answer she received from the medicine man so closely matched the answer I received last week. My answer was "Stop thinking, Start Feeling" Her answer was ..."But you must stop looking at the world through your head. You must look through your heart, instead...." OOHHHH!
