| Their first porno. Aww thats so romantic!!! LMAO!!! Yea we get Bigs actual name(The full name) but I got a feeling everybodys gonna know shortly anyway. PORNO? Geeze I know this is called SATC, but I didn't think it was called Doing iT and the City(I need to think of a better porno name--sorry) Oh well as long as everybody is having fun!!! Am I going to the movie? Yes by myself unfortunately. My wife is working Sunday...so I am gonna go then. She is not much of a fan anyway. So its my chance. We usually wait till movies come out on DVD but I can't wait!!!

I think I have convinced DH to go see it with me again this weekend. He always watched it with me in HBO so he was kinda bummed I was sneaking out for a midnight showing. I feel like I need to see it again because my mind was still spinning from the finale of Lost and I may have missed some of the ode to the series moments.

| I have watched re runs on regular networks so I am sure they censored a lot. I know they cut out a lot of bad language!!! But thats ok, I love the show and gotta see it. But I do know that Sarah Jessica Parker has a No Nudiety clause in her contract. Lets see if that applies to the movie as well. I have been watching Cynthia Nixon being interviewed this morning. I am glad she is happy in a lesbian relationship in real life, but am sad she had Cancer!! (They caught it very early).

For more than one reason. First, it is now a movie about women in their 40s. Secondly, these relationships are a lot more mature than just boyfriend/girlfriend. I think the movie did a good job of exploring what love means as you age.I was talking to my DH about the film during dinner and remembered that at the end of my row there was a dad and daughter. I'm guessing he was there more to chaperone. (Michigan has pretty strick curfews and I kept wondering if these teenagers could legally be driving around at 3 in the morning.) It just hit me boy I bet the sex scenes must have been pretty uncomfortable for both of them.

| My favorite non-Big moments of SATC. AKA references to John James Preston 1) Carrie walking into the apartment and calling out for John. For some reason hearing her call Big John just melted my heart. 2) The waiter in Mexico calling Carrie, Mrs. Preston and Carrie saying it's like taking a bullet. 3) Page Six

| The first time I saw sex and the city it was with my dad. I was a senior in high school. Samantha was "doing" the fireman. I am not sure uncomfortable could describe it. It was uncomfortable with the language. When they got down to the "HBO" only stuff, it quickly surpassed uncomfortable. lol. I am surprised we werent both too traumatized to ever watch it again! lol!

| Just got back from seeing the movie! it. Want to see it again immediately.I agree - thought the blurb was a little unneccessary. I think you need to have seen the show to truly appreciate the characters - that's not something that can be covered in 90 seconds of clips. I, too, was torn about Samantha and Smith, but in the end, I thought she made the very Samantha-appropriate decision. I was kind of hoping her and Smith would just move back to NYC and live happily ever after, but I guess that wouldn't be her happiliy ever after. I did love that she didn't cheat on Smith, though, and thought her dog was adorable (and pretty dang funny I loooved the moment when she called out for "John" in his apartment - it really melted me too! I think it made their relationship so much more real, like you got a glimpse at how they might be when it wasn't "Big" but just John. I have to say that I totally cried during the entire flip-out when he didn't show at the wedding. Her fall-out afterwards was also pretty realistic, it just broke my heart. She really looked like poo and that's really how it is. Some other things I loved - when Carrie was packing her apartment to move in with big, she was holding, among other clothes, the pink dress that she was wearing when Big showed up to her apartment right before she left for Paris with the Russian (on the show). Loved that little throw back. Also, when Big revealed the Taj MaCloset to Carrie, the audience reaction was priceless - a collective *gasp* and then "oooooh." Also, our theatre totally started clapping and hollering when the first "HBO" music chimed in just before the classic SATC theme played - who doesn't love that music??? ![]() One of the things I felt like the series was missing in the last few episodes was the funny. Understandable, since they had a lot of emotional/drama stuff to wrap up, but I missed the laughs. I got lots of laughs out of the movie.

| Disney Scarlett: I totally agree with you about SJP's portrayal of the devastated bride. Most of my audience gasped but having lived through my share of heart ache it was just what I would have expected. The montage of the girls checking on Carrie was priceless and one of the most realistic portrayals of heart ache that I've seen. I keep comparing it to my all time favorite heart ache reaction - Emma Thompson in Love Actually after she gets the Joannie Mitchell CD instead of the necklace. ![]() DH and I are trying to figure out a way to see it again soon. We are thinking kids to Prince Caspian and adults to SATC. Like you I really appreciated the references to the series. The Anthony/Stanford New year's Eve kiss cracked me up remembering Charlotte's failed attempt to hook up her gay friend with Carrie's gay friend.

| Just got home from the move and I knew you would appreciate this fun fact. I live in Poughkeepsie! (And there is no pudding factory... We are about 90 minutes from NYC and I like to consider us Westchester's Westchester) Quote:

I thought the throwbacks in the closet were cute. I giggled a little when she put on the dress from the TV Shows opening sequence! lol! Quote:
And my favorite and most realistic in my experience before Carrie B was Sandra Bullock in Hope Floats... the way she just slept and her daughter yelled at her that "you dont check on me! you dont ask me how my day was at school!" Its classic to me how everyone tries so hard to get her to blow the stick off of her but it didn't mean anything until she was ready.

| Question of the day - Do you think your movie watching experience is affected by the audience you see the movie with? Because I saw the movie at 12:05 opening day the theater was a sell out, packed with SATC Fans, lots of cheering during the movie. Cheers for TV theme music, cheers with the opening credit outfit, etc. Yesterday, I talked with my favorite cousin who lives in the Salt Lake City area. Mormon women are forbidden from seeing R rated movies (think Brooke White never having seen a R rated movie). My cousin's experience therefore was much different. No sell out crowd, no cheering, no clapping. She loved the movie (maybe because she and her friend brought in Cosmos to drink during the movie or maybe because she too is a huge fan) but even she noticed there wasn't the excitment that I enjoyed. She commented on missing that part of the fun.

| YAY! i found the thread.... Okay so I LOVED the movie!!! I was really hoping for the theme music in the beginning and I clapped and cheered! It was truly great! LOVED the closet Big made for Carrie...i seriously hit my DBF on the arm and told him i wanted that! Okay so what did i think..... I think that you did have to watch the tv shows to get the deeper jist of the movie..but i think you couldve liked it anyway i guess...i mean who knows...i dont know anyone who hasnt seen the show*LOL*...... I particularly loved the part where carrie said she loves the way old books smell...ive always said that and it was great...then i loved the way that BIG/John wrote her those emails in the end...i had a feeling that was coming. I was in tears when charlotte was taking carrie away from Big at the wedding...but i felt a little sorry for him too because he knew he F****D up! I was in tears over charlotte getting the poops in Mexico.....i swear i never laughed so hard in my life! I think samantha felt trapped and was leaving behind the person she was in that relationship and i know how that feels so i completely understood what she did although i liked him*L* I will have to say i laughed and hit DBF on the arm again when their two gay friends kissed!! They always hated each other with a vengence!!!! it was so great! I thought it was great how they showed carrie devastated......I mean that's how you really feel and look...it was so sweet when samantha fed her ...i thought....that's what friends are truly for ya know??? In the end...i was sad to see it was over but i know i can go see it over and over again*L* ....i will have to say that my favorite scene was when he put the shoe on her for a the engagement ring....for those who know me that is the perfect proposal*LOL* even my DBF said he thought of me when that scene was over.... I loved how it ended and DBF said this too....with the four girls out having drinks and then other 20 something gen girls in pairs of four were going into the club as well.... I think that i love this show because it shows me that love and friendships and good times can happen at any age!!!

| DDuff, I definitely think that it matters what audience you see the movie with. I saw it around 7:00 pm on Friday, and I was surprised at how many men where there (with their wives of girlfriends). There were more women than men, definitely, but I guess Date Night for a bunch of folks was SATC. My Rapunzal, I love that scene in Hope Floats, too - very real. I appreciate that a lot. When Carrie threw the phone in the ocean after listening to just a few seconds of Bigs voicemails, I was like, "I hear ya." ScDisneyFan - Charlotte getting the runs in Mexico had me dying too. I have a friend who is Just. Like. Charlotte. and all I could imagine was that happening to her, which just made me laugh harder!

| Oops, double post! Well, since I already started a new thread, I thought I'd say I loved the end too - the four girls are so much more important than them with men.
