| Favorite Off the Wall movies The favorite recent movies and worst recent movies made me start thinking of all the great movies that we really like.... Not necessarily off the wall, but not as big as the blockbusters, old, new, whatever These are some of our favs: The Fountain - Beautifully done movie I think (and Andy agrees). If you watch the extras on the DVD you learn that they didn't do computer generated effects, it's macrophotography... cool.... And Hugh Jackman is of course fabulous While on the Hugh Jackman topic... The Prestige - Fabulous story line, fabulous actors (Hugh, Christian Bale, Michael Caine). Great great movie. Directed by a great director who also directed.... Memento - This movie will blow your mind... seriously could short it out. You have to watch it a few times (kind of like the Prestige) and it's worth it each time. Big Fish - another one of our favorite movies.... Ewan McGregor always makes great choices and this one is very touching. Again, it makes us cry everytime we watch it. Tim Burton really did a great job with this movie... And still on the Ewan topic... Stay - It had Ewan, Ryan Gosling, and Naomi Watts. I'm sure a lot of people thought this movie might be crap, but it has a great twist and lots of "what the heck's going on" moments. I love movies where I can watch for clues and hints and weird things happening in the background.

| Did they do O Brother? That movie... we watched that movie so many times back about 7 years ago....it was my first trip with Andy's family to the Outer Banks and Kevin was with us and he kept singing the songs all the way down to the beach... and we'd spontaneously start quoting the movie... "That don't make no sense!" ![]()

| DD has every Tim Burton movie in her collection. The movie for me is House of Cards. Deals with my former line of work.

| I really liked Memento, and I was surprised it didn't get more attention. On the DVD version you can watch it two ways, the original way it was shown - in flashback, or you can watch it in chronological order.

| This list is going to be culled from my Netflix viewing. I'll have to do another one with the films I own. The Illusionist -This movie blew us away; its about a magician like The Prestige, mentioned by mestich, but way better imo Educating Rita The Prize Winner of Definance Ohio Rabbit Proof Fence Freedom Writers Greatest Game Ever Played October Sky

| We just watched the Illusionist this weekend... It was good, but I thought the Prestige was better in terms of story and all the acting.... Ed was GREAT in the Illusionist as was Paul Giamatti (sp?) (we always call him pig vomit b/c Andy loves PCU). But I felt that it lacked a little something extra that the Prestige had.
