| The Baby Borrowers Did anyone watch this tonight? Wow, that one girl was such a brat. Can't wait to see if she can tough it out with the older kids. Maybe that will be easier for her. Yikes.

| We did. DH, DD (14), DS (16), and I watched. That one girl (Alicea?) was a brat! How can that boy stay with her? We didn't know the same kids will be on next time with the toddlers. It is interesting how a few of the kids are really maternal - while others are clearly quite selfish and self-absorbed. It was interesting to see how two of the guys really stepped up when their girls were not up to the task.

| I can't believe anyone would allow their children to be "borrowed".

It is an awesome show. I feel sorry for Kelly who wanted to have kids and now feels like a failure. Her world has changed dramatically. The other girl know as "diva girl" should just go home now. Why her bf puts up with her is a question

| I thought it was GENIOUS to have those kids see what it's really like to have a home, a job and a kid... That Alecia has a lot of growing up to do, she's way too self centered to be a mother. |

| I don't see how placing a baby away from its primary caregivers won't cause him stress or damage him emotionally. I think it's an awful premise, it makes me sad.

| You know Rachel, I never even let my babies stay with my mom or MIL I was so overprotective! The first time was when DS was 4 1/2 and DD was 2 1/2 and it was a family emergency.

here's our run-down of what's wrong with the show - 1. Those kids are not invested in those babies - they really could care less about them. Parents care. 2. When you have a newborn, you learn how to care for it slowly - you don't suddenly have a teething 7 month old dropped on your lap with (what appears to be) no instruction. 3. When I was pregnant with each of my girls, I read every baby book I could find - those kids didn't have 7 to 9 months to prepare! 4. WHERE on earth can you make $100 a day, at a job that will only pay, at most $10 an hour (if not minimum wage?), and live in houses THAT nice??? I'd love to do that!! One thing we both agreed to is this will not deter any kids except maybe those on the show. Even my friend's very smart 18 yr. old DD said "I could handle that a lot better. I wouldn't have that problem" I'm sure she's right, but I don't think she knows what's in store for teen parents. We thought the show would be more accurate if every day there was a "crisis" each couple had to handle - i.e.: "your water heater went out. It costs $300 to replace. You made $350 this week, and your rent and food, and baby supplies are $100. You're $50 short. What will you do?" or "your baby is ill and needs a Dr. You can't afford one." or just " your selfish little 'wife' has spent all of the money on dresses and pretty things for herself. Now, you're in danger of having the lights turned off. How are you going to manage?" Now, those are problems!!

I was a little BAD and didn't read any baby books while PG (I only read PG books) but I felt that your #1 point made all the difference once Jimmy came (so that I wasn't ripping my hair out by #2.)

| Agreed, the show is not real life nor are the programmable babies our school system uses. It is just one more way to try to reach kids and make them seriously consider what they are getting into, to think about the non-perfect moments of parenting. You may have time to learn before you have a teething baby but you can also get a colicy baby who doesn't sleep or any number of things. I can see this show being shown in classes to prompt the "how could that have been handled differently" and "what would you do" discussions.

| I bet we all wish we had the option of going to work, instead of dealing with a crying baby. That's not real life - oh - I'll go to work this today, you can go to work tomorrow.

| I wished that someone would stay home to help with kids when I was sick. Its really nice to see the couples working through some of those couple issues, also.
