So every summer (in between seasons of LOST) they have some type of ARG - alternate reality game. Not necessarily "canon" to what's happening on the show, but just something cool and fun to do while you wait for new episodes.

I think it was in this season's finale that they had an advertisement for Octagon Global Recruiting. You went to their website and registered. The event was actually held at Comic Con last week and even if you weren't there you can now play along.

If you want more of this background stuff, go to Main Page - Lostpedia and there is an article to link to that has all the emails posted and some video clips to watch.

To get in on the game, go to DharmaWantsYou.com and make sure your voume is turned up to get the full effect of the Dharma-y music. Be patient, the site takes a while to load. You might want to skip the intro if it's taking too long. Then click on new recruit to take the eligibility test. Assuming you pass (I'm sure everybody will of course) you get to register. They are supposed to have new tests every week to test the recruits' skills. Don't know a lot of details about it but it sounds interesting.

Lostpedia is supposed to be posting clues that come from this ARG. Who knows if they will mean anything to the show, maybe it's just interesting connections. So in between rounds of Dharma tests be sure to keep up to speed on everything else with Lostpedia.

I took my first test yesterday. I know these summer Lost games usually are waaaaayy over my head (I don't have time to keep up on all the details and hidden clues) but they are fun and I really enjoy them!

Umm, yeah ... when you get into analyzing the source code of an email just to look for clues, that's a little much for me. But I'm glad somebody else out there is doing it, that way I can just sit back and read about it.

YES! And I remember the previous games, they had snippets of people speaking foreign languages that needed translation, and pictures that needed hours of photoshop to be able to make anything out, lol. Maybe if I was a teenager I'd have that kind of free time. But I do enjoy the end results.
