| Drum Corps Quarterfinals in theatres Thurs night! For those of you that are into marching (band), music, and/or have kids in a middle school or high school band, there will be a real treat in movie theatres all over the US thursday night. Drum Corps International presents their championship, quarterfinals round in over 300 movie theatres throughout the US, starting at 6pm EST! This is marching music's major league  Check out DCI.org for more info or theatre locations! I marched in 2000 and it was probably the greatest experience of my life. I got interested in drum corps watching it on PBS in the late 80s and early 90s, as I'm sure many of you are familiar with! I'll be in Valdosta, GA tomorrow night watching it!!

| My DH talked about seeing this. He was in the Marine Drum and Buggle Corp. stationed in D.C. and remembers playing at a DCI show as entertainment once. He really enjoyed watching the kids play.

| I saw an ad for this prior to seeing The Dark Knight in the theater. It looks like it will be pretty neat to watch on the big screen.

| That sounds so cool - I wish I could go!!! Our high school band went to the DCI South chp. in Birmingham for 2-3 years and it was wonderful. Then the chps came to Jackson MS one year (I still can't believe that ever happened) and I got to see the prelims as well as the finals, and the parade downtown that many of the smaller corps marched in. I try to catch the finals on PBS every year but have not been very successful lately. I think they need to give this competition more coverage.

| For the last few years they have showed finals on ESPN2, but this year they are not for some reason  this is really the only chance to watch it..unless you buy the DVDs which won't be out until later this year.
