| Breaking Dawn **SPOILERS** Ok, its about time to start discussing this I think....after all, I just finished . Lots of you were done WAY before me. My sister has already read it twice! I just wanted to talk about two things to start: My favorite moment in the book: When Jacob imprinted! I just didn't see it coming and was just blown away when she described what happened to him. Love it. My favorite description in the book: Bella's experiences as she was becoming the newborn. The author put a lot of thought and effort into that section and it worked really well. Now it's your turn!

| While I felt that the name of Edward and Bella's daughter was doofy, I LOVED the nickname Jacob gave her.I thought the big confrontation scene was well-handled too and I loved how Bella's secret talent really took on its true powers at that point. I liked how the nomad vampire fell hard for Tanya's sister and I liked how there were suddenly extra "shape shifters" in Sam's pack. (Cool too how they aren't considered werewolves, but rather shape shifters.) I thought the honeymoon was interesting -- both on the physical and emotional levels. I thought this book really cooked along and held my attention, despite being incredibly long. I didn't feel as if I'd been reading and reading and reading and wishing there had been a stronger editor involved. Eileen

| I am really glad that Charlie got to still see Bella after she became a vampire and he got to meet his granddaughter. I am very glad that the author didn't end the book with a big fight scene. I just loved how Bella was able to protect her family and allies. I think my favorite description in the book was when the author described how Bella felt while she was using her shield, both physically and emotionally.

| Once again, Stephenie Meyer has written a book that grabbed my attention, and that I couldn't put down (unless DS was wresting it from me. ) I wasn't so sure about some of the choices at first, but after some reflection, and after reading an interview with Stephenie, I have come to respect most of the choices she made. (Entertainment Weekly was not so kind, however I am still not keen on the name Renesmee, but I do understand it a little better. I kind of wish she had chosen Elizabeth, Edward's mother's name. I was really thrown by the pregnancy, and I am still at a little bit of a loss to understand quite how it was possible. So, I've pretty much accepted most things, but I'm still a little unhappy that Bella didn't really have to sacrifice anything. Not that I wanted a downer ending, but when there are hard choices, you normally have to give something up. I think I just wish Bella would have had to deal with giving up her relationships with humans. I don't think Jacob should have told Charlie (and I thought that wasn't in keeping with the code!) And it would have been more interesting to watch Bella and the Cullens settle in a new town, starting over in high school again, bringing it full circle to the beginning of Twilight. (Did any of you ever read "Tuck Everlasting?" I think that book makes good points about the trade-offs of becoming immortal...and I bring this up because it such a common issue people have to deal with! )Sorry to babble for so long...I am just dying to talk about this more, and I only have DS13 to chat with, and I really don't feel like joining another message board!

| I actually read the whole saga from beginning to end in 5 days. I had been hearing so much about the books that I thought, what the heck. I was kind of glad that I waited and read them all at the same time. Needless to say it was a number of long nights and a lazy Sunday. I was also glad that I didn't really hear anything specific about the books or movie except the vampire thing. It allowed me to go into it with a pure mind and in this case heart. I was amazed at the writing. I love books written in the first person. It allows me to bond with the main character but I think it's really hard to do. (I dabble at writing myself and find it hard to find ways to get in whatever happened away from the main character very hard) Yes Renesmee was a little silly but kind of perfect at the same time. I knew there would have to be some kind of nickname a little later. (Thought it was going to be more like Ren) Each of the books pulled me thru a range of emotions and I still want more. I want to know more about Bella's new family and their lives before she came in the picture. I love series books, especially when I bond with a character. (Or in this case group of them) I am torn about Bella not "giving up something" and "getting it all" Yes it did seem like she got it all wrapped in a pretty bow - Nessie, Edward, Charlie (for now), a wonderful family and even Jacob. But what if her sacrifice happened before the end and even after the end. Before the end she is so unsure of herself in so many ways. She gives of herself and always put everyone first often sacrificing herself. After the book ends - she will one day have to deal with living way beyond Charlie and Renee (She has already started to loose her) She will eventually sacrifice her original family. It's not written in so many words, but it is there and in the future. Sacrifice was all over the books, for many of the characters.(Even if sometimes it was miss guided) I was so upset with Alice at first and then I just couldn't believe that she was so selfish as it got closer to her return I could just feel she was off doing something to better the future. By book 4 I don't know about how geared to wards teens the book is. Actually as the books go along it feels less and less "teen" and more about life and love. Up until Edward and Bella found out about Renesmee I kept trying to think about how strong their love was for each other. Don't get me wrong, I love my husband very much but the pull the Edward and Bella had just seemed so much stronger (Yes, I know it's a book) then I kept thinking about the love and how I feel about our daughter and everything and it started to make sense. I totally related to Bella when she became pregnant and that kind of love. I could go on and on about my thoughts and theories. Thanks for allowing me to share the experience of reading the Twilight series.

| Just a quick comment on the too easy for Bella feelings out there. I am in no way an expert on the Mormon faith but have had numerous Mormon friends/aquiantances in my life. I think in order to understand Breaking Dawn you have to keep in mind that Stephenie Meyer's is a member of LDS. It is my belief that Bella's choice to join the Cullen coven can be understood a little better if you remember that fact. I haven't read any interviews with the author but I think Bella doesn't have a major sacrifice to make in the end because as a believer your faith is the only thing needed the sacrifice has already been made for you. If anyone out there has more information, I'd love to hear it but that is just my guess.

| I read the Entertainment Weekly review and wanted to smack the reviewer. He questioned whether a pregancy was possible -- other vampires couldn't give birth, he exclaimed. Well, duh... vampires couldn't have babies because they can't change. Since Bella was a human at the time of conception, she could change, could nurture the baby and could give birth if a vampire was there to help the baby out. Seeing as how that South American vampire had done it several times (and had come back for the birth to help the halfling out of the womb), I never had a problem with it. Just because vampire women can't change, doesn't mean vampire men "shoot blanks." Eileen

| I agree Eileen! Stephanie explains that loud and clear in the book.
