Angry Rocky Horror Picture Show remake?!

Rocky Horror Creator Horrified By TV Movie Plans

Brand Favourite For Rocky Horror Remake

MTV, really?

Russell Brand, really?

Is it just me or do I smell a big, steaming hot plate of FAIL?

ITT: Discuss your thoughts on this and say what you think would work (casting, things like that).

oh and i had originally heard they were thinking of casting marilyn manson for the lead role.
tbh, i would've much rather have him play frank n furter instead of russell brand.
but i'm not too happy about this remake either way.

What. The.

No way.

First they want to make an awful "sequel" to The Lost Boys (which, I love) . . . then they want to make a horrid sequel to Donnie Darko (which, I love) . . . now THIS?!?!?!

Why can't people leave well enough ALONE?!

A Donnie Darko sequel?
You have got to be kidding me.

That's just ridiculous.

And I agree, they should just leave things alone.

They will never be able to top the original......it's a classic......I remember participating ( when we could actually bring everything, nothing was banned) ok now I am telling my age but we had such good times......they need to leave it alone. Ok, so now I will go to work with Time Warp going through my head......

Nope. Remake. Bad Idea. (and who is this Russell Brand? I don't know him)

I, too, am from the years when the theaters encouraged you to bring your own props and you got up and danced in the aisles. Great fun! A huge group of gals went on the night of the junior/senior prom and had a blast (my junior year).

Seems like they'd have no audience. Anyone who loves the original probably won't want to see it redone, and anyone who doesn't like it really won't be interested in a remake. Sounds like a waste of money to me.

I find that the phrase "Follow the money..." answers a LOT in this world. I think they already did a sequel called Return to Denton or something like that and it was absolutely appalling....like, they left space for audience comments or something.

Anyway...I won't be watching this movie.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Fans of the original I would think would boycott this one just on principle alone. We used to go see it in the theater all the time. The friend I went with became a cast member and was very involved in it for a long time. They have a hard time finding theaters that will run it, no one wants to deal with the mess. We had a blast though. I'd find rice in my coat pockets for days afterwards.

I can not even put it into words how wrong that would be. RHPS is one of my all time FAVORITE movies and remake would be shameful.
