I don't read spoilers either. And other than reading what you guys write and checking out the recap on EW's TV watch each week, I don't read anything about the show anywhere. I don't have time or energy to devote to reading lostpedia or other official/unofficial sites to try to get to the meat of the shows. (Same goes for Heroes). I feel pretty strongly that the shows should stand up on their own without us all having to look for clues and figure things out (obviously I'm not getting my way). I feel lucky to have so many Passporter friends that can clear things up (or make them more muddled.....).
a little off topic, but Heroes has become unwatchable. it has seriously become one of my least favorite shows. i don't know how they took 10 people with superpowers and made them so boring. that's a skill in itself. i feel like John Locke is more of a superhero than half the people on that show.
the writer's have specifically said that Jin died. sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but he's gone. they had to clear this up because people refuse to believe it. the same thing happened last year with the oceanic six. they had to put out a commercial showing all of the oceanic six because people refused to believe that aaron was one of the six. the writers said that some things that seemed pretty obvious to them aren't as clear to the general public.
Do you have a link to this? I listen to the official podcast, read/listen to almost everything I can from the producers and this one has slipped by me. I thought they were still leaving it up in the air.
Did anyone find it interesting that Pierre Chang (Candle/Halliwax/Wickmund) said to the construction worker who suggested setting charges near the frozen donkey wheel "God help us all." (In the beginning of the episode "Because you left")
And Mrs. Hawking said the same thing at the end of "The Lie" -- when Ben told her he couldn't gather everyone in 70 hours.
Charlotte wasn't born on the island according to Ben. I was watching Season 4 on DVD, and when Locke has a gun to Ben he recites Charlotte's whole life, where she was born, her parents, where she was raised, where she studied, etc. However, I thought it was interesting that Miles told Daniel not to tell the Losties what his last name was! I think Daniel has a romantic interest in Charlotte, so I'll be surprised if they are brother and sister.
in confirmed dead, the conversation goes like this:
"What are your names?" Sayid says.
"I'm Daniel Faraday and this is Miles-"
"Don't tell them my last name!"
Daniel chuckles. "I guess this is just Miles."

As for Claire... we only know that she got up and walked off after seeing Christian. Then she's in the cabin and Locke didn't touch her or acknowledge in any way that she wasn't "alive." I think we have to reserve judgement on whether she'd dead. (When she appeard to Kate, it was a dream -- again, we can't take that as a sign that she's not alive.)
After just re-watching that episode on DVD, I'm back to thinking that she is alive, or at least did somehow survive the explosion of her house. I had forgotten that Aaron was with the guys at the time. Now whether she died somewhere out in the jungle, after leaving Aaron and before we saw her in the cabin, who knows? I just really wish we could find out more about what her "deal" is - but apparently that has to wait until Season 6.

And here's why I think that the two "lawyers" who approached Kate about the DNA testing are actually "Losties"
Ben to Jill, the butcher: "Have Gabriel and Geoffrey checked-in yet? Jill: Yeah, everything is moving as scheduled. How's it going with Shephard"
To me, that seems like the continuation of a thought -- as in, "so Gabriel and Geoffrey have approached Kate. How's it going with Shephard?"
Eileen
I agree. I don't think they are real lawyers with a real client - it was definitely a set-up of some type.

. "“There was never a plane crash, and nobody has ever died,” the Spy revealed. “None of the people ever knew each other before they entered an office … of a psychiatrist who does experimental hypnosis therapy.
“And it’s for people who have lost someone in their lives and they cannot go on any further. … Each one of those people lost something or someone valuable in their lives.”
The final episode will show the patients – including some people we thought had died – going to their last therapy session at the psychiatrist’s in Sydney.
So what do we make of this tale from the Anonymous Spy? A troubled insider reaching out? A not-very-elaborate hoax? Deliberate disinformation to throw the Watcher off track?
The producers of “Lost” have repeatedly said that the characters who die on the show really die – yet they also keep coming back to life, so it’s hard to believe the producers on this one.
In the end, it doesn’t matter if the Anonymous Spy’s information is good or not. The Watcher will help, anyway.
Let’s make this clear to the “Lost” brain trust:
There will be no hypnosis therapy. No one will wake up from a dream. The director will not come out from behind a bush and yell “cut!” There will be no autistic boy with a snow globe.
If the “answer” to “Lost” is not contained inside the walls of the show we’ve been watching for the past four years, the Watcher will send his minions in your direction armed with firebrands and pitchforks."
So help me, if this turns out to be the way it ends.....I may file a class-action lawsuit to recoup time lost and mental abuse!
I've always heard that the show will not have some kind of crazy ending that will just explain it all away like a dream or something like that. Now the way they choose to end the show may not make any sense in the "real world" but it will make sense in the LOST world. Of course now I'm not making any sense, but what's new?

Seemed very intentional to me.

Yeah I noticed that when re-watching. They always repeat things in this show, either a line or an action or reference. Think of all the times they've focused in on somebody's eye, or an episode has started with somebody putting on some music.

I always thought it was just because he didn't want to reveal too much about himself, his cohorts and their mission to the survivors. But I'm open to the idea of his last name being a tie-in to something or somebody else.

I thought it was very clear that she survived the explosion of her house -- Sawyer extricated her from the wreckage, she retrieved Aaron, and she walked through the jungle with them before seeing Christian hours later...
Now, she certainly could have had internal injuries that were not, at first, apparent. But, I tend to think that something else happened here. Just can't believe we have to wait for next season for more explanations!

I STILL think Jin might be alive. Remember, the ultimate Sci Fi rule...you're not dead until we see a body (we saw Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia, Libby), we DIDN"T see Jin.
But the producers have been pretty clear that he's dead....
What I find interesting is that among all these discussion of whether Locke or Jin or Claire are dead... no one seems to be asking about Michael.
Eileen
michael is dead also. refer back to the link i posted before. they wanted to do more with his storyline, but b/c of the strike, his redemptive story line was cut short. also, with the shenanigans that Harold Perrineau pulled, they probably won't let him back.

Maybe they can xray the shark that tried to eat Sawyer, Jin, & Michael on the raft in Season 2. Because, to paraphrase Alton Brown, I'm sure there were some "Good Eats" from the freighter blowing up!
