North by Northwest

Our local PBS station had North by Northwest on Saturday night, so I decided to finally sit down and watch it. Well the kids had been sick off and on all day, and DW and just gotten in from a 14 hour nursing shift.

It gets right to the end of the movie and there is an "emergency" upstairs. I came back downstairs after the near tragedy, to see that the movie is over. I have no idea how it ended. I can't find anyone at work who has seen it.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but does someone know how it ends. the last bit I seen was Cary Grant holding on to the main female characters hand and they were both hanging from a cliff. A bad guy walks up and steps on Cary Grant's hands and then someone shoots him. What happens next!

She nearly falls off Mt. Rushmore, Cary Grant pulls her up, then it cuts right to him calling her "Mrs. Cary Grant!" (or whatever his name was in the movie) and he pulls her up to the upper bunk of a train car. Happily ever after! I had a feminist film professor who had a fit about this movie.
