Jennifer Hudson and other Grammy Performances
I know I'm writing this in the middle of the show, but did any of you see Jennifer Hudson's performance? Wow....she brought me to tears - I thought she did a wonderful job. Her voice is absolutely amazing - although I should confess she was not my favorite on Idol.
That was an amazing and heart wrenching performance. Im glad she got the standing ovation that she deserved. What an awesome woman and performer!!!!! She has such class!!!!!
She has been my favorite tonight, too.
And, I love Disney . . . but why did they ever tell Miley that she can sing? I think her voice is just painful.

I cried when she got her award and bawled when she sang!! So far the only other preformer I havent turned down the volume on was Paul McCartney!! I did love the Al Green and Justin Timberlake duo, too
I hope that the rest of the show gets better , cause Im NOT impressed
Can someone tell me who Gwennith Paltrow introduced? I was reading a post and missed what she said . . . now I'm sitting here wondering what is this crap I'm listening too?

I have to tell you I am in the same boat you were! I was too distracted by her dress and reading the boards to know who those people were - I've never heard them before

Crap!?
Crap...was Katy Perry.
That was Radiohead....
ETA: I loved Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, and Justin Timberlake...both times.

Missed Katy Perry . . . must have been putting DD to bed then.
Thanks for letting me know about Radiohead.

#1 . . . Justin Timberlake should be the only one ever allowed to cover Al Green after seeing that performance, IMO. MAN that boy can sing.
#2 . . . Paul McCartney with Dave Grohl on the drums was . I love The Beatles and the Foo Fighters so to see them both there . . . loved it.
#3 . . . Coldplay. I could have done without Jay-Z or whatever, but I still absolutely ADORE Coldplay.
#4 . . . I didn't hate the Jonas Brothers and Stevie Wonder.
#5 . . . Gwyneth Paltrow introduced Radiohead (with the USC marching band). Radiohead is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite bands. The whole marching band thing was a little weird at first but it actually fit with the song.
OH . . . and I liked the tribute to Bo Diddley with John Mayer, Keith Urban, Buddy Guy and B.B. King.
However, U2 has been my very favorite band since I was about 10, but I am NOT crazy about their new song. I was kind of disappointed by their performance.
And Katy Perry = YUCK.
ETA: Led Zeppelin never won a Grammy (until they were given a Lifetime Achievement award in '05) . . . and tonight Robert Plant won FIVE. Nothing like playing catch up 40 years later, Robert.
Jalen was looking forward to seeing Chris Brown perform, so I Tivo'ed it for him. Now I just saw he was arrested for assault so he wasn't there. And neither was his gfriend Rihanna. Drama, drama.

My DD said that she is just TOO famous. She makes these faces like she is going to have to go #2 while she is singing. Wow.
So, apparently, even Miley is in pain when listening to herself sing, is that it?
