I have to tell you, I am targeting a particular buggaboo that has been haunting me with lack of progress for WAY too long, and I am somehow coming unstuck. It is pretty amazing!

| I homeschool my boys. For my youngest, I have him copy a few sentences each morning to work on his writing/printing skills. I'm thinking instead of my usual "Today is Monday, June 8..." next year I will try slipping in some positive words to try and program his attitude for the day. My middle son needs to work on his handwriting, so I really think I will try and incorporate this. I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading more by Mr Gladwell. I also wanted to say I'm trying to do less eye rolling! Beth

I wish we didn't have to wait until next year to hear how your priming experiment went!

| I know I always like to listen to a particular radio station in the mornings that has encouraging music and positive news and messages to begin my day. If I am frustrated or had a bad day it usually makes me feel better to tune into this particular station becuase of the tone of the station.

There is a list of discussion questions in the back of my edition. Could someone look at the list an post a question for us to discuss? A gold star to whoever does that!

| I'm late on the bandwagon so forgive me if I didn't see this posted. I saw that Leonard DiCaprio is signed to do a movie about this book. It's to be released in 2011. He's able to read body language and faces and uses it in the corporate world. But I guess for the movie, he ends up using it to help his father.

| Okay here goes..... Chapter 4 Discussion Question #18--Can anyone ever really prepare for decisive, rapid fire scenarios? Is planning for the unpredictable worthwhile or a waste of time and energy? This question puts me in mind of training DH has gone through at work for safety, fire and hazardous materials incidents..........Hopefully nothing ever goes wrong and he doesnt have to use it, but he goes through classes several times a year. After so long it seems he is relearning the same things over and over. However, this past year there was a tragic accident on the job and DH was one of the first responders. There is no way to train specifically for accidents because you never know what may happen. DH and others with training were able to free the victim and get them help and save their life. When asked at a conference on the accident later with superiors DH was sure to point out that without the training to make him familiar with procedures in emergencies and safey response issues he didnt think it would have turned out so well. Training to familiarize EMT's. Dr's, Firemen, military personnel, etc... in the possible scenarios they may be confronted with does help when those quick responses are needed.

I think all planning is valuable as long as it does not get you stuck in analysis paralysis. Here's your gold star, Jamie! ![]()

| Thanks for the star. I am always glad to be helpful. That particular question jumped out at me because of the profoundness of the situation I spoke of.
