Chapter One

I read part of this chapter while I was having lunch. Let's have som fun here...

This chapter starts with one of those awkward nightmare first dates.

Let's hear your story for your worst first date!

Maybe I'll have to pick up this book. Your first question is intriguing!

I've had a lot of horrible first dates in years past. Back when I was single, many of my friends thought that they "just had to set me up on a date!" One person set me up with a guy who had just recently gotten a divorce. He talked about his ex-wife all through dinner. Another first date was a double date with a friend and her BF. The guy she set me up with talked about nothing but riding his wave runner. Finally she and I ended up sitting next to each other and talking about work because this guy was SO boring. The prize for worst first date goes to the date set up for me by a co-worker's DH! Her DH calls me at 8am to tell me that he has found the "perfect" man for me. So he sets it up as a double date at their house for a BBQ. I get to their house for the "date" and I have to say that there was NO attraction whatsoever. Then during lunch we try to talk. This guy was B O R I N G! He had absolutely no interests. He didn't like to read, go to movies, watch TV, do any sort of sports or watch any sort of sports. Frankly I don't think he did anything other than sit on his couch and stare at the blank walls. So then my co-worker's DH suggests that we all go to the beach for the afternoon. I was ready to bolt, but I didn't want to appear rude so agreed to go. Well we get there and this guy plops down on the grass and pulls his shirt off. I'm really not a shallow person, but I was repulsed by the sight of this guy shirtless. Definitely no attraction there. Thankfully my DD called around that time, and I ended up ducking out early saying that I needed to assist my DD with a project.

Maybe all of these bad dates made me really appreciate my first date with DBF. We actually met online. There was an instant attraction from the moment I laid eyes on him. We had a wonderful first date that I will always remember.

Sorry - no nightmare first dates here. I had one "boyfriend" (if that is what you want to call him) in Jr. high and then started dating DH in high school and we've been together ever since. DH and I started dating while on a high school choir tour and then I had to have knee surgery right after we got home from tour. So we knew each other pretty well before we got to actually go "out" on a first date.

Made plans for first date with a coworker. Decided since I worked with all men that they were pulling a joke on me. I was the one with a car and was suppose to pick him up. I decided that the joke was when I arrived to get him that he would be sitting there in his underoos laughing his head off at me and asking me why was I there, so I stood him up. Welllllll, he didn't speak to me for a while. I finally convinced him that I really was afraid of being duped. He had bought all new clothes for the date and was very excited about it. We set up another date and that was about 24 years ago and we've been married 22 of those.

Wow! That is pretty bad. THanks for the laugh!

I've started chapter one, and it is so much fun to run into characters that I already know! Bo, Olivia, the whole gang is there!

DH started dating when I was just 15 so although I had a few "dates" before then and a few in college really no bad date stories.

Who's ready for chapter two???????

Just finished the first chapter. Spoilers below!

- HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love a chapter that ends with the woman choking the stupid guy instead of deciding that it is slim pickins anyway, so she will try a second date and maybe, like a really bad smell, it won't be so bad in time.

I feel like I am in Back to the Future where I am meeting the earlier versions of people that I already know in the future. It is fun to have read ahead in this series, then go back!
